"Our stay at The Shilla was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and extremely comfortable. The beds and bedding were some of the best we’ve experienced while traveling and made it easy to get great rest after long days out. The amenities throughout the hotel were excellent and clearly very well maintained. The staff truly stood out as well. Everyone was incredibly professional, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire stay feel seamless and relaxing. The sauna and wellness facilities were also fantastic and a highlight of the stay. Everything was spotless, relaxing, and very well organized. Overall, The Shilla delivered an exceptional experience in every way — from the rooms and beds to the staff, amenities, and facilities. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting."

"The hotel itself is average, maybe 2.5 to 3 stars. It is older and in need of renovation. The staff are helpful and do the best they can with what they have. The issue is the location and the noise. The description says it is in the Itaewon Station area. It is directly across the street from Itaewon Station, and surrounded by night clubs and bars. I arrived on a Thursday evening and the clubs were just starting. There is apparently a club on the second floor because when the elevator passes they floor, the noise of the music becomes deafening. I had a room on the back side at first, the room was tiny and loud. I upgraded to a larger room on the front side. The room was decent size, but the noise even worse. Music thumping, cars honking, police sirens, drunk people shouting, street musicians, etc. It finally quieted down about 6am. I did not sleep at all. And Friday night even worse. On top of that, there was no control of the heat (winter), which was set at about 30c, which meant having to open the window or swelter. The best the staff could do was a fan! I left at 4am Saturday morning. The front desk person processed a refund for my remaining stay, which was probably the best thing that I can say about this place. Unless you are in your 20s and want to party all night, AVOID THIS HOTEL. Try the Mondrian if you want to be in Itaewon. Quiet, much much nicer. "
