Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG

"Rather disappointed with my stay this time sadly. Although great location and very handy to have parking at a discounted rate, my room was scruffy. There was a dent in the wall, cups were dirty, ironing board fell down when I tried to use it and the phone didnt work. I did mention this to someone on the day I checked in and they said it would go on the maintenance schedule but it never got fixed. Little disappointed too not to have any Freeview channels. On the plus side, great to have air-conditioning and little extras like the ice machine on 2nd floor and suntan lotion dispenser at reception nice touches."

"Nice big rooms, ideal location for exploring the local beautiful beaches, good spa facilities, very good bar. It was very busy so breakfast maybe wasn’t up to it’s usual standards but still nice and staff very friendly."

"The stay at the property was very good.We enjoyed it every time we stay there.The only issues that we have is the food in the sports bar is not at its best And unfortunately never has been, we paid near.£ 50 pounds for 2 burgers and chips and two drinks and the meat was very hard and dry every time we stay, we very rarely eat there. There is a lovely pub just down the road where the food is a bit more expensive, but very nice , the Rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly the swimming pool area and sauna area. It's a great place to relax, but there's 90% of the time, always something not working. We've been there a few times now, and 3 times we had items not working. We pay a lot of money to stay there and you don't really expect that"

"Great stay for the day we spent. Staff were polite and helpful. Room was decent, breakfast was ok. Only negative was that the bed was very hard and caused me body pains the next day"

"Lovely hotel, nice breakfast and beautiful garden with option to take a walk in the woods. Be aware if you don't book directly on the website, you will need to pay extra for spa and pool access which is a bit strange considering you are a guest in the hotel. Pool entry was also timed which is really not great but made sure there are no crowds in the pool."

"Hotel was good, but there is no air conditioning. This meant that we slept with the windows open, and it was very noisy outside - a combination of neighbours in the evening, workers in the buildings below our windows and in the morning, seagulls at dawn. Found the room to be very hot with four of us in it and only two small fans"
