My family was looking for a Maine lake stay while visiting the Bar Harbor and Ellsworth area. We chose the Branchview Shores and were very pleased we did. The residence is just a short drive from Ellsworth. The view of Branch Lake from the living room is phenomenal. The cabin has a deck and a private dock from which you can further relax and enjoy the quiet lake view. The cabin is surrounded by trees, giving it a feeling of seclusion even though there are other cabins nearby. We saw deer and turkey in nearby fields every day. The cabin is very well equipped, clean, and spacious, and communication with the host was excellent. It's near restaurants, grocery stores, antique stores, and a 24-hour self-serve cheesecake store (which I highly recommend). I would say if you want to have a relaxing stay on a tranquil lake in the Ellsworth area, this would be the place to stay.
