Find hotels in Ellscheid from £59

The best time to go to Ellscheid is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities.

During late spring, the Eifel region bursts into bloom, making it a beautiful time for hiking and cycling. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C, and there's less chance of heavy rain compared to mid-summer. This period is ideal for couples looking for scenic walks around the volcanic lakes, known as Maare, such as the Ellscheider Maar itself.

Early autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, usually between 12°C and 18°C, and the landscape is stunning with changing leaf colours. This is a great time for those who enjoy exploring the Eifel National Park or visiting local wineries without the larger summer crowds.
