Room was very dirty, lots of fluff and dust. The communal areas - hallway and kitchen also dirty, looked like there was no cleaning done prior to my stay. No rubbish bin provided in room. Kitchen did not have any amenities, no kettle cups or cookware, I don’t understand why you would advertise kitchen access if there is no possible way to use it. In general the property was clean. My main disappointment was the communication with the property, before and during my stay. 4 messages and 0 replies. I received comflicting emails with regards booking in and booking out. Due to hard flooring and fire doors with self closers unfortunately, quite noisy within the building. Not all occupants remembered the 10pm 'quiet'. Don't stay here. False advertisment. It says there is a shared kitchen but reality guests are not given access to the kitchen. I talked to the managers and they refused to rectify the situation. The hallways have trash and dirt. The mattress as horrible. The drains need to be snaked. The good things inckude solid internet and access to buses. The park nearby is lovely. Good: Everything was new and in good shape, it was quiet, private bathroom, and near several bus stops and a grocery store. Not so great: Half of the plugs weren’t working, there was no rubbish bin in the room, the floors needed a good sweep. There was no access to the kitchen, which meant no tea and no filling a water bottle. Having booked through Expedia, and with no on site folks except for check in, I’m not sure how I could communicate any big problems if they had come up. None of these were deal breakers. No kettles, no fridges, no microwave. I did pack my luggage with the thought of using above items so I could not accept. The location is quite nice, all the buses go to the centre of Edinburgh, there're several supermarkets. Had to attach the blind to the frame as it was lying on the window sill. Property advertises WiFi but don't tell you what the WiFi network or password is and they don't answer messages to provide it. I replied but never got an answer. Only the evening before arrival did I get all the information I was looking for via message on hotels.com - very detailed, but late when you just want to have an abstract before departure.
