This was a fantastic place for my stay in Edinburgh. A short walk from public transit, the hotel was on a very quiet and safe street. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with storing baggage before check in, and I had a lovely stay. Will stay again in the future.

The room was clean and warm with a nice bathroom we had 3 beds in one room with ample space. The greeting by staff was very nice and helpfull with our touristy questions. A big Thankyou to Scot the manager who filled in with the history of the hotel. The breakfast was well presented with a great choice of breakfast foods. We will definitely refer our friends to your hotel in Edinburgh it is a great location. Joy from Canada

After all those negative feedbacks I was worried but I have to say the hotel surprised me otherwise. My kids felt extremely comfortable and actually enjoyed it much better then their previous more modern hotel stay in London. They absolutely loved the kind and very helpful receptionist , they felt immediately at home and really enjoyed the few days they spend in this old world charming place. Additionally it is in a perfect location every sight in close walking distance. Yes it is old but that adds to it's charm and it shows but it is clean and very comfortable. Thank you for being part of making my daughter and her friends trip a success!

We turned up at mid day just to leave our bags there. We were told our room was ready so up we went to a very large bedroom! Very rarely do we get such an early check in so well done to the staff and reception. The hotel is situated in a quiet road about 15 a minute walk into the city. So ideal really. I would recommend this hotel for all the above reasons.

It’s an old building so I understand it can be difficult to maintain, but it needs a good cleaning, the furniture is shabby and dirty and needs to be replaced. There is no elevator so if walking stairs is an issue at all don’t book here. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff were very helpful, they were able to provide us with a lot of information on the area. There was no parking at the hotel so we had to leave our vehicle at a paid parking lot about 10 minute walk away (closest one) it cost me £80 ($150CAD) which was an unexpected expense. The breakfast was lacklustre but it’s better than no breakfast which is the norm. An FYI for those travelling with kids, there is no elevator as it is an old building so be prepared to carry your things. The staff were helpful in that we were able to leave our stroller in the lobby and they helped lug our stuff to the 3rd floor.

Parking in the area was rough but arranging parking through the hotel made it easy. Hotel was a little outdated and rooms were sparse, but the staff was incredibly informative and friendly. Good area. Easy walk to the royal mile and very close to dean village.

Loved this property because it has an authentic Scottish vibe. It is an old hotel but well managed and kept clean. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!
