Super friendly staff, location was convenient and close to downtown. Rooms were clean and washroom was a good size. We stayed in the family suite which was located on the first floor (main floor was 2nd). The wifi was not working on the first floor but did work on main and 3rd floor. Rooms do not have a telephone if you need room service, so you'll need to go to front desk to get help.

The configuration is unlike anything else I have seen. It is a series of houses/apartments across the town that are rented out as hotel rooms. Ours was a 5 minute walk from the main desk. The house looked more like a B&B than a hotel. The room was awesome with a living room, two TVs, kitchenette, bathroom and a king size bed. I would definitely stay here again.

The Ava apartments are ideally located for walking exploration around Reykjavik. We had a short challenge getting the access code to work and arrived before the cleaner was finished but it wasn’t a long wait. The street noise can be heard but just being in Reykjavik was such a treat.

"This was the second hotel we visited on the r ing road around Iceland. We had great expectations in that It looked modern on the outside and the reception folks were very polished and professional. However, there is no elevator and you have to negotiate stairs with your luggage (no bellmen, of course) ..."
