"The building looks lovely and the grounds are beautiful BUT the room wasn’t great , the bathroom had an old shower curtain and the shower was above the bath. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was small and dark. it was my birthday and there was no mention of this even though my husband had given advanced information. The buffet and dining room looked spectacular but the food quality wasn’t what we were expecting given the visual wow factor. My least favourite hotel whilst staying in Sri Lanka. "

"One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Very good location in Nuwara Eliya. From check-in to check-out our stay was seamless.We are three friends who stayed for one night. In the morning we came down for a walk to find some food, but the staff greeted us saying they'd been waiting for us for breakfast, as it was included! And I'd forgotten something at breakfast, but when we came back from a morning walk they had it at the front desk and handed it to me. Everyone was so kind, would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. "

"Not sure what's going on with the 5/5 reviews - our experience was vastly different. I've given feedback to management directly, so won't labour the point here. Positives: - The staff were lovely (as everywhere in Sri Lanka) - Breakfast was generous, reasonably priced and good - Great view - Hot shower Negatives - This is a 2-2.5 star property at best - looks good from afar but needs serious renovation - Rough finishings, tired furnishings, musty smell throughout, very sparse (our large family room was mostly empty floor space) - Felt like an abandoned castle in the middle of nowhere - zero atmosphere We had initially booked 2 nights but left after the first and moved into another hotel. "
