Traveling through NW Ireland
The Snug is in a good location to see Slieve League and the Glenveagh National Park. Be sure to check out Kelly's Kitchen for the best seafood chowder around!

Wonderful find!!
We loved "The Snug"! This was the 3rd vacation rental on our trip and this one is by far the best! Spacious, very well equipped with lots of small extras (DVDs, travel guides, games, etc) great pub close by and good location for activities. Thank you!!

Lovely stay
Comfortable, clean, well equipped. Easy walk to pubs for friendly pints. Go to Anderson Boathouse in Killybegs for a wonderful dinner.

Quarantine stay
The property is comfortable, has plenty of space, and the amenities, such as washer and dryer, WiFi, and heater all worked great. The view is lovely and there are numerous walks nearby. Only the bathroom and kitchen needed a bit of attention to put us at ease. Overall it’s a great place to stay and we would stay there again.

Because this couple were staying for the purpose of quarantine I gave access to their daughter living locally in advance of check in so that they could leave groceries etc. Their daughter rang me whilst there and said that the place was immaculate..

The apartment was well-equipped and comfortable and in a convenient location for touring County Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy, rainy and windy for most of the time, so we enjoyed having such a lovely apartment to return to and relax in.

Everything and more
You never know what you’re really going to get when you travel and The Snug was a delight surprise. I can’t say enough about this little place, Sheila’s quick responses to my inquiries, and the awesome location. The tiny (and I mean tiny) and quiet hamlet of Dunkineely is not a destination town but it’s a fantastic home base to make day trips from. The off-street parking is also a huge bonus (people park on the side walk because the road is so narrow). There is a nice little convenience/grocery store a mere block away. One cafe (didn’t try) and 4 bars (I only went to Mac’s and it was great). You’ll definitely need a car to get around. This isn’t a mass transit or even a walking area. The sights and experiences of Donegal require a car. This is a self-catering apt so be prepared to supply your own TP once it runs out. Everything else was extremely well provided. There is a washing machine (no dryer) and a dish washer. Internet worked flawlessly. There is also a lovely back yard. You can gaze out onto a farmer’s field and Inver Bay — very peaceful. Small warning: the walls are thin. Not sure if the adjoining apt had full-time renters or other travelers but it can get noisy. I needed ear plugs at night to sleep. I would return to The Snug in a heartbeat: absolutely loved it.

Just loved it. Worried about no reception but a quick call to Sheila the property manager and we were in. We loved the place. Quaint village, excellent view from the apartment. Everything was clean and great having everything to cook meals. She also gave us tips about the area. We loved Sleive Leig Cliffs and then took the long way back which was lovely.

This was our first village accommodation on this trip. It was certainly handy to everything. It was in a good location for our exploration of the area. The flat was spacious, clean and fresh. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were warm and comfy. The views were lovely.

Can't wait to return to The Snug!
We loved everything about The Snug, the location in Dunkineely was charming and well situated, the views to the south of Galway Bay and Ben Bulben were inspiring, the beds and the living room were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, there was even a washer and dryer. There's a small market called Floyd's just down the street, we were able to make breakfast every morning before we set out to explore amazing County Donegal. Sheila was very esponsive and pleasant to deal with. Hope we make it back one day!

All you would need for a comfortable relaxing break
We had the upstairs property which has 2 good sized bedrooms and a cozy lounge. The kitchen was well appointed and the whole flat was clean and modern. There is a large shared back garden which is secure and our two small dogs loved it! The village has a small shop for provisions and 4 pubs - we enjoyed the music and craic in Macintyres and at least 2 of the pubs have beer gardens. There is no restaurant as such in the village but Mary Murtins in the next village is good and there are plenty restuarants in Donegal Town and Killibegs A taxi back from Donegal town is around 30 Euros though there is a bus service. Overall this was a great place for a break and we hope to be back - maybe to try the ground floor apartment (we got a sneeky peek at this from our neighbours!)

Wonderful Weekend Getaway
We had a great time in Dunkineely. Following a busy week of traveling throughout Ireland, it was the perfect relaxing way to end our holiday. The apartment was immaculate and very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. I wasn't expecting such a beautiful view of the sea and mountains! Would definitely recommend this find to others! Thank you Sheila!

Comfortable with a great location and views.
Easy to find with good parking space , and just a few steps from the first of 4 pubs in a row and with great take-away just 30 yards the other way. The Mace convenience store is just at hand as is the local butcher. A different beach for each day of your stay with our favourite being Fintra a couple of km past Killybeggs. Some good restaurants like Castle Murray and the wonderful view, food and service( try Sunday lunch or the seafood lunch) and Kitty Kellys specialising in seafood, beautifully cooked and served with some of the nicest smiles you will ever see. Go to Ardara and call in to Nancys for a tasty lunch and then on to Maghera beach past the waterfall. And the kitchen in the snug is well able to provide any type of meal,with most of the equipment you could ever need. Our stay was completed when the local accordion band paraded past on their charity march from Donegal town. Complete with exuberant marching girls they were brilliant. This memory will last.

Great place to base yourself for visiting Donegal
We stayed for two nights in the Snug, and we really enjoyed the apartment - the views are fantastic, and the location is great for visiting anywhere between Donegal town and the Slieve League cliffs. The apartment itself is a lovely spot, very clean and has everything you need. If staying here, you should definitely visit the Slieve League cliffs, Killybegs, and explore the many beaches in the area.

Rustikal, zweckmäßig- freundlich aber eher geringer Standard
Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Die Ferienwohnung ist groß, hat aber ihre besten Tage hinter sich. Das Bad entspricht nicht dem deutschen Standard, die Küche ist groß und man findet alles, was man benötigt, allerdings hier und da auch ein wenig schmuddelig. Die Betten waren bequem. Die Wohnung liegt an der Durchfahrtsstraße des Ortes. Das Schlafzimmer nach hinten raus war sehr ruhig, das vordere durch den Straßenverkehr recht laut. Dunkineely liegt zwischen Donegal und Killybegs - beide Orte sind mit dem Auto in 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Im Ort selbst gibt es nur einen Minimarkt.

Ein idealer Ort zum Ferien machen
Die Ferienwohnung bietet alles, was man braucht zum entspannen. Die Informationen zur Anreise kamen sehr schnell nach der Buchung und waren sehr Präzise. Die Räume sind gemütlich und die Aussicht haben wir jeden Tag genossen. Der Parkplatz auf dem Hof ist seht praktisch, es gibt einen Laden und Bars in ein paar schritten Entfernung. Schon die nähere Umgebung lohnt der Erkundung und auch als Ausgangspunkt für die weitere Umgebung ist die Lage prima. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen.

Appartement bien situé pour explorer la baie de Donegal (Slieve League, Malin Beg, route côtière menant à Slieve League, Bundoran et sa plage de surf, St-Johns Point), plutôt calme (bien qu'on entende le bruit de la route et les voisins du dessous s'ils sont bruyants). Très propre mais dommage qu'ii y ait de la moquette dans les chambres.

Aucun contact physique avec la propriétaire (clé dans une boite à code par exemple). La personne chargée de l'accueil n'explique rien du fonctionnement ou très peu. On a l'impression de la déranger ! Mais appartement très confort. Manque important de matériel de cuisine : pas de passoire !!!!! pas de grands récipients pour cuire des pâtes par exemple ou des légumes.

Wij verbleven 3 nachten in deze woning en hebben genoten van het goede bed en de goed uitgeruste keuken. Het is er rustig en schoon. Er is veel moois te zien in de omgeving.
