The Strand Hotel, the former residence of Oscar Wilde + Flight

    Bray
    2 nights
    3.5 star property
    8.4/10 - Very good (247 reviews)
"This property is beautiful, historic, and run by exceptionally professional and helpful people. Although the boardwalk it sits on was buzzing with music and activity much later than anticipated, we couldn't hear it from the room and had a fantastic night's sleep in Room 1, the Picture of Dorian Gray."

    8.8/10 - Excellent (315 reviews)
"This is one of those places where you seldom see staff. Everything can be done through your phone. Check in / check out / door locks / luggage storage can all be done without involving a human - which I didn't mind.Hotel was clean and very well situated. Rooms were a bit "thumpy." I kept hearing what sounded like furniture being moved around or sacks of potatoes being tossed around. Never figured out what the commotion was, but it was consistent. Overall a recommend."

    3 nights
    4.0 star property
    7.8/10 - Good (46 reviews)
"We were surprised by the check in process. You have to collect your keys quite far from the apartment. So plan for a delay to use transit or a two-way taxi fare. The apartment was dirty. Mould in the closet. The beds were terrible (one like an air mattress & the other was hard as a board). The pillows were so used they were hard packed. The air freshener system is needed because a sewage smell came from one bathroom. The photos used to advertise the unit were not the same as the unit we stayed..."
