Pleasing experience, first time in Dubai
Our shuttle service to the hotel was not at the airport. Long queue for taxi so we contacted the hotel, who informed us that we should have had this service but they had not been contacted with our arrival times. We had booked through Expedia, so this was a little disappointing after a long flight but the hotel driver was in the area so we only waited a further 10 minutes.
A very warm welcome by reception team and very helpful. As we arrived at 10.00 and our room would not be ready until 15.00, we were offered changing/shower facilities. On Friday's from 12.00 they hold an event open to non residents. This event is very well organised, food and champagne, beers, wine cocktails are all in the package price along with live music. Approximately 1000 guests.
We had an executive room with sea-view and use of the 8th floor executive lounge, breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks were served and more intimate than the main restaurant.
The food served in the Italian and Hunters restaurants were superb! Room service very efficient.
A little niggle was the inconsistency in housekeeping. Used wine/water glasses, coffee cups were removed from our room but not replenished.
