I had a short stay at the DoubleTree in Nashville. It is a prime location within short walking distance of all of the wonderful touristy spots. The staff was unbelievably kind and attentive. We did experience some mishaps with the tub not draining correctly and we had to call multiple times to get it resolved. It never got fixed during our stay but after mentioning this the staff was able to reduce some of our costs during our stay as an apology for the unresolved issue. Because of these great accommodation and willingness to make up for the issue it really proves that even though DoubleTree is a large chain they truly care about their guests having a great stay. I would definitely come here again!
We were able to walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Ryman Auditorium, the Johnny Cash Museum and to the main tourist street, Broadway. We used Gray Line tours for the City tour, which was excellent. We never took our car out of the lot.
This was our first time at Union Station, we chose it based on proximity to the event we were attending. I had reserved a room with double beds and we were given a room with a king bed, even after telling them that was not what we had reserved. The rooms were smaller than most, and our location was on the first floor backing up to train tracks. The cleanliness of the bathroom left something to be desired, there were hairs on the floor and the shower needed a "deep cleaning". Twice the next morning, around 9am and well before checkout time, two different individuals knocked on the door to service the room - I would have assumed they would have been aware that we were checking out that day.
On the banks of the Cumberland River, downtown Nashville is home to such popular attractions as the Ryman Auditorium (known as “The Mother Church of Country Music”), Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge (where stars like Willie Nelson were discovered), and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The State Capitol is also here, as is the home of the Tennessee Titans (football), who play at LP Field.
