Stayed here for five nights just recently. Have visited Cairo many times over the past twenty five years and have stayed in several of the city's 5 star hotels. Whilst this hotel is in a great central location overlooking the Nile, it's service standards somehow let it down at times. Arrived in the early hours of the morning and was immediately disappointed to find I'd been allocated a small Nile view room with a window as opposed to the larger deluxe Nile view room with a balcony that Id paid extra for. The hotel appeared minimally occupied but I was told there were no suitable rooms available until the next day after 12noon. I was therefore unable to unpack or settle in properly until then. Not a good start to my stay! The following day I made sure i was moved into the type of room I'd paid extra for. This was more spacious with a balcony overlooking the Nile. Bed, pillows linen and air conditioning were very good, as was the soundproofing of the glazing. All ensured a good nights rest was had throughout my stay. The breakfast was particularly good with a great mix of usual hot buffet fare, a lovely selection of Egyptian/Arabic food (the belila, fuul and fattir were to die for) and a chef available to make fresh omelettes, waffles etc. Service however was slow and patchy. This was the case elsewhere too. Biggest bugbear? Room wasn't hoovered during my stay. Crumbs on floor for five days. Coffee, creamer etc was rarely replenished. Service let the hotel down.
i really enjoyed my stay i really loved the FG floor its a bussiness lounge all my meeting i did it over ther really nice room signture one clean nice staff they were very helpfull any i would go back agin the food great location wise close to every thing in the hart of downtown very nice clean hotel i woyld rate it 5 star hotel
Exceptional hotel in the heart of downtown Cairo. Nile river view was awesome, staff was exceptional and security definitely on point. Hotel is spacious and well priced with lots to do and see in the hotel.
The room DID NOT look anything like the photos on the website. And I was disappointed in the bedding: the pillows were brown and the comforter had blood stains on it. Having said that, the room was relatively clean (for Egyptian standards). And the staff was very friendly to me. I did, however, hear from several other guests that they were pressured by the staff to buy various tour packages. They didn't bother me because I wasn't there as a tourist.
With Tahrir Square to the west and Islamic Cairo to the east, the downtown Cairo district offers smaller hotels, restaurants, and shops along its wide streets and boulevards. Many of the downtown Cairo buildings feature Paris-style architecture of the late 1800s.
