Beautiful hotel in an off the beaten track. Very good food. It seemed to be the waitress's first day but she did really well under the guidance of the owner, who was certainly putting his heart into this small business. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely location, staff very helpful and kind. Rooms clean and well stocked with coffee etc. View from our room was stunning and the temperature in the room was perfect, the ability to open the window at night was good. The menu was not the largest and didn't change through the week but the food we did have was excellent.

Great hotel on the water with an excellent restaurant. It was hard to find a hotel on the Isle of Skye, but we were extremely fortunate to find a room here on short notice.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Marmalade and wished we had more time to stay even longer. The food in the restaurant was some of the best we had on our 3-week trip, the views are incredible, beds comfortable, and facilities / grounds very clean and beautiful. 10/10 highly recommend!

Booking in was very easy. There was an envelope left inside the door with my name and room number on.
The room was lovely - not huge but big enough for 2 with a lovely bathroom, nice thick towels and hand soap, body wash and shampoo and conditioner in the shower cubicle. The heated towel rail was a nice touch making the bathroom nice and cosy so you weren’t coming out of the shower to a cold room ( nothing worse)
There were tea and coffee facilities too with a nice biscuit on the side!

The best areas to stay in Digg are along the main road that runs through the village or in the quieter, more secluded accommodations just off this central route.
Digg itself is a small, linear village primarily defined by its main road, which connects the ferry terminal at the south end to the more rural parts of the island further north. Along this road, you'll find the majority of the island's amenities, including the local shop, a few eateries, and the community hall. Many accommodations here offer easy access to these conveniences and often boast views towards the sea or the surrounding hills.
For families, staying centrally along the main road offers practicality. You'll be within easy walking distance of the local shop for supplies and the community hall, which often hosts events. The proximity to the ferry terminal also means less travel time upon arrival and departure, which is always a plus with children.
Couples looking for a more tranquil experience might prefer accommodations slightly off the main thoroughfare. These spots often provide greater privacy and a more secluded feel, superb for enjoying the island's peaceful surroundings.
When is the best time to go to Digg?
The best times to visit Digg are late spring and early autumn, specifically May, early June, September, and early October, when the weather is generally mild and the crowds are smaller.
During these shoulder seasons, you'll find pleasant temperatures and fewer visitors compared to the peak summer months of July and August. This means you can enjoy the stunning landscapes, like the Quirang and the Old Man of Storr, with more tranquility and less congestion on the roads and at popular viewpoints. It's an ideal time for couples or solo travellers looking for a peaceful escape and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.
Late spring offers the advantage of longer daylight hours, with wildflowers beginning to bloom, adding to the scenic beauty. Early autumn brings a different charm with the changing colours of the landscape, creating a dramatic backdrop for photography and hiking.
