We stayed one night and the staff was pleasant and the room was clean. The only complaint was a fight broke out in the hallway at 4am waking us up but that’s not the hotel’s fault just ignorant inconsiderate guests. We would stay here again.

Likes-Property is well maintained and secure. Cleaning staff performs daily housekeeping (rooms are refreshed every day). Complementary coffee is available anytime during stay. A/C system in the room performs as desired. Dislikes-Not a needle mover.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Southfield, and overall, there were some things I really liked, but also a few things that definitely need attention. The room was spacious, and you can tell they’ve done some recent upgrades to make the property more comparable to other hotels in the area. The updates look nice at first glance, but when you look a little closer, you can still see remnants of the hotel’s age—rust around the fire alarm, areas around the doors that weren’t completely painted, and other little details that make the renovation feel more cosmetic than complete. The breakfast was actually one of the highlights! The sausage and egg omelets were delicious. The ladies at the front desk were kind, professional, and helpful, and the woman working the breakfast area was wonderful as well. I was a little disappointed that the pancake machine wasn’t working, though—I was looking forward to those pancakes! 😂 My biggest issue was the smell in the room. It was STRONG. I mentioned it to the front desk and was told it was probably a deodorizer, but whatever it was did not smell like deodorizer to me. Every time we left the room and came back, the smell hit us all over again. I actually made a point of reporting it because I didn’t want the hotel thinking the smell came from us and charging my card for incidentals! Housekeeping was also a little lackluster. There was a piece of hair on the edge of the bathtub when I checked in.

The front desk customer service person couldn't find my 2nd room reservation and I ended up getting 1 room with 2 beds for 3 people. The bed smells strong javelin and we had headaches next day all day.

Definitely needs some updates. My air conditioner didn’t work in my room and when I called to let them know and was told to pack my stuff and come down to the lobby and they would switch my room. To me I have been inconvenienced, why not have someone come get my stuff and take it to my new room!

Breakfast was horrible. 3 little pigs eating right in the buffet area. Lady cooking was rude. The lady who gave me my key was rude and didn't show up for like 15mins. After driving 5hrs, its not what I needed. Won't be back. Worst exspirance. Room wasn't clean. It was hot. Thank God the ac. Worked.
