Spent 5 nights as part of a combined ‘Buenos Aires/Montevideo’ trip. Always look for small stylish hotels and the Alquimista is absolutely spot on. Beautiful 1920s building, lovely room, freshly-cooked breakfast, and just an all-round wonderful ‘feel’ staying here. The real highlight though was the welcoming hospitality and local advice from Carolina and Mark - do ask how to find Jueves 5 for a post-city-sightseeing drink if you want to sample an out-of-the-way bar which tourists rarely find....

This is a place I will never forget the scenery was jaw dropping and the whole place was spotless.
I was so sad to leave the staff were extremely helpful my only issue I have is nobody spoke good English
I wish I had learned to speak good Spanish.

Overall, a very nice, high-end hotel. Breakfast was great, rooms very good, bedding was exceptional, friendly staff. The spa was a bit so-so (sauna was too cold) but overall a very good hotel.
