Stir fried spicy squid is not what I had in mind for breakfast. Also, I don't think it's appropriate for a 4 star hotel to allow guests to wear BIKINI tops into the restaurant. I don't want to see beach wear when I am dining in a nice hotel. There is a lot of construction work and shops and restaurants in the area, so its not the place of you want something quiet. We enjoyed it and found it to be an exciting, bustling area. The room was comfortable, service superb, breakbuffet good. Pool is quite small, but on a nice roof terrace with great views. Hotel was mostly good. The room was in great shape and very comfortable. Other parts of the hotel were a bit run down. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, some of them were very curt and dismissive. The area around the hotel was a disaster area. Literally, heavy construction on all sides, made it hard to walk to/from the hotel because of all the construction and stuff piled in the streets. While the room looked similar to the photos, the quality was nowhere near what was advertised. Negatives: • Delayed airport pick-up – not a great start. • Key charge – if you lose the key, you have to pay extra, which feels unreasonable. • Shower issues – poor water pressure and broken fixtures. • Breakfast & Service – very poor quality, both in terms of food and staff attitude. Service was slow and unprofessional. • Misleading Reviews – I have no idea how this hotel has received so many 5-star ratings. Positives: • The room was spacious and clean. • The internet was fast. One important note: There are two hotels nearby with similar names – Golden Lotus (this one) and Golden Lotus Luxury (which might be better). Despite the positives, I just didn’t feel comfortable, mainly due to the poor service at breakfast.
