"The hotel was clean, friendly and good value, the continental breakfast was plentiful. The staff were great and we got a parking permit which was great. However there was scaffolding around the building and around 9 am on the second day there was hammering and banging almost outside our window. We were not informed that this would be happening. Overall a lovely hotel and very close to everything in the town and I would stay again "

"The property is not as described. It’s a room in a house with shared facilities throughout. Amenities are few with no basics in the room such as a radio or TV. The property listing said ‘pillow menu’. Hmm. The room I had looked nothing like the photos and upon arrival, I checked out the room, and bathroom, and decided to leave. "Perfect night stay at Harlestone retreat, very clean room with tea and coffee available the bed was so comfortable i slept all night and needed an alarm to wake me up. I will be staying again for sure. It would be nice if they could leave a bowl of fruit or a drink as a welcome pack ( even if it costed me more money ) It was nice to relax in front of a big TV with some great films to choose from. Very clean shower and toilet. Overall it was just what i needed. "

"If this was my local pub, I’d be happy - lovely staff, friendly clientele, a fine dog and the food is acceptable ‘pub grub’ however.... the stay in ‘family room’ was not good. The room was upstairs in the pub and initially no key supplied as ‘nobody goes up here’. The room was akin to a store room with a couple of beds chucked in. There was an oversized old armchair blocking a chunk of room and a huge wardrobe which you couldn’t use as it was stuffed with Christmas decorations and a skeleton...

"It is ideally located in centre of town, a park across the road and river that runs by the apartment. The church bells rang on Sunday morning at 11am which was nice. The downside for some would be the noise from the road and bar downstairs but the convenience of being in town centre means there would be some noise so we did not mind. There is 20 mins parking outside in layby by baths or 2 hours across small park to unload then car park has ability to pay 24 hours at a time on phone. It has good...
