The hotel is situated 10 min drive from Inverness airport.
The driveway and grounds leading to the hotel are quite magnificent and the staff are so friendly that after just one day it felt like we were staying with family.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The hotel is an old mansion full of character and charm. The staff was excellent and the food was as well. We had a very enjoyable stay and recommend this place without hesitation.

Very enjoyable one night stay. Good location for Loch Ness and Inverness. Our room was called Ness which we booked on a last minute deal which made it value for money. Breakfast was excellent we didn't have dinner in the hotel but instead went to a superb restaurant called Fiddler's in Drumnadrochit a village on Loch Ness about 15 minutes away where they have over 600 Malt Whiskies and great food. Need to book in advance, we were lucky to get a table.

Stayed here for 3 nights-most enjoyable! Room was clean, spacious and quiet, breakfast was delicious and the pool/sauna were also a great addition to the trip. Staff were friendly and approachable and gave great advice about the local area and beyond. If I'm being really picky; the shower in room 230 had no power to it, but fab showers to be had by the pool. Also, room was right beside the lift which could do with a good oiling! After one night in the hotel car park, my car was COVERED in bird...

A last min booking, and full disclosure: I wasn't expecting much from a small regional hotel... but it was excellent.
A good sized room, clean, decent bathroom, with good water pressure, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed with nice bedding, friendly staff, bar on site, great breakfast.
I have stayed in large chain hotels that didn't provide all of those things!
If you need to stay in Inverness and want a straightforward warm, dry and welcoming room, with parking, a simple bar and good...

The best time to visit Culloden Moor is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to October) when the weather is generally mild and the landscape is particularly striking.
During spring, the moorland begins to bloom, offering a gentle green backdrop to the historic site. The temperatures are comfortable for exploring the battlefield on foot, and there are fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months. This makes for a more reflective and peaceful experience, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the solemnity of the location.
Autumn brings a different kind of beauty, with the moorland grasses and heather turning rich shades of gold, russet, and purple. The air is often crisp, and the lower sun angles can create dramatic lighting for photographs. Like spring, autumn offers a quieter experience than summer, which is ideal for those who prefer to explore without large groups.
