"We stayed in the Lavender room at the top of the house. It's reached by narrow, windy stairs so be careful! Beautiful spacious room, plenty of storage. The ensuite had both a roll top bath and a separate shower plus a chaise longue! The room was clean but in our opinion, lacked a couple of things like tissues and bottles of water. There was plenty of tea and coffee but no decaf t bags. The pillows leave a lot to be desired as do the towels which were only just absorbent. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice for cooked but could use some pastries if you don't want that. Would we stay again? Yes. Parking is permit only outside the hotel so is on nearby streets for guests which may be an issue in the rain."

"An exceptional hotel room above a busy pub. The room had everything we needed and was large and comfortable for a family of 4. We loved the hamper with breakfast treats and the fridge in the room. The coffee machine and fan were a treat. The only negatives I can think of are that its very noisy, which even though we knew it was above a pub, we didn’t expect it to be as loud as it was. It was karaoke night but the sound proofing is non existent, luckily we were shattered so dropped off pretty easily in the comfy beds, but just to be mindful of if you are a light sleeper or have children with you. The car parking is also a little confusing … on this site it says it’s £6 for 24 hours on the carpark behind the pub which is not true. It was £1.50 an hour up until 10pm we then had to go back the next morning at 8am to pay again for more hours….This was misleading on this website. Other than that we did have an enjoyable stay and Ilkley is delightful."

"It was a perfect stay. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel even prepared a fan for the room. The breakfast was amazing and the kitchen staff made sure our needs are attended and came out to explain about the breakfast available for each and one of us. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Yorkshire."

"The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay . The accommodation is all being updated with new bathrooms and redecoration , however this did not impact on our stay . Our room is yet to be updated but was very comfortable with a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and biscuits . The food in the Dog and Gun next door was very good,and again the staff were lovely . A fabulous visit and we will be back again next year ."
