"The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again."

"The house is kept beautifully clean. Views from it are mind blowingly fabulous. Needs more hanging space in the bathroom and unfortunately there was a smashed window covered in cardboard in the front hall that I was not informed about. Plenty of nice easy free parking (although its £30 per charge for an electric vehicle). Rooms pleasant but just feel unfinished. Breakfast is good but not had bacon quite so overcooked in a long time. Personally, wouldn't stay again, there are lots of better quality establishments in this price range nearby."

"Welcoming family run B+B. The building is maintained to a high standard, the views are astounding and it's in a good location for walking the fells. "The overall cleanliness of the hotel & the service was wonderful with the exception of a grumpy woman behind the bar her service was awful, she didn’t even come to take my order for lunch I waited 40minutes I even had to go & ask & order it myself up at the bar, it wasn’t even busy. She wasn’t very helpful it was as though she didn’t like the job! Her approach to customers wasn’t great really to be honest. But I certainly give 5 stars to all the other staff in the restaurant & especially the lady at reception. Thank you to those staff that made up for the grumpy one with glasses. "
