Top Critot Hotel Reviews

Grand Hôtel de la Seine

10/10 Excellent

"J'ai beaucoup apprécié cet hôtel. Simple Tout ce qu'il faut et personnels très sympathique"

Best Western Plus Hôtel de Dieppe 1880

10/10 Excellent

"The room was clean and tidy. I didn’t eat the breakfast but the buffet was adequate and you could order in the restaurant. The carpets were very dark and shows dirt easily, although they cleaned daily. I suggest another carport with a nice pattern be installed in the hallways."

B&B HOTEL ROUEN Centre

8/10 Good

"The hotel is in the less historic part of town on the other side of the River Sienne, not very pretty and quite commercial, lots of fast food outlets and a thriving African community, some lively bars and pubs playing some great Afrobeat. The hotel looks over a huge shopping centre, however it’s also next to a large and very beautiful cathedral on the square, ask for a room on the top floor with a view of the church, spectacular as the sun was setting. The hotel is pretty basic but it is what it is, a bit tatty around the edges, could do with a few repairs, chipped and scuffed wood, lick of paint etc. But the main thing was that it was clean, the bed was big and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful and most importantly, it was cheap!"

Ibis Rouen Centre Rive Gauche Mermoz

8/10 Good

"We liked the location and the secure parking. You can easily walk to the historic centre of Rouen. The room was quite warm but fortunately the window could be opened. The downside to this is that we faced the street, so it was a bit noisy. I would nonetheless recommend this hotel as the positives outweighed that one drawback. The staff were lovely."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Critot?

The best area to stay in Critot is in the village centre itself, particularly around the church and mairie (town hall).

This area provides a central base for exploring the region. Critot is a small, quiet village, and staying in the centre means you're within easy reach of the local boulangerie for fresh pastries and the village's only restaurant. The main street, Rue de l'Église, connects these key points.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying in a gîte or a small hotel within the village centre offers a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic rural Normandy. You'll find it convenient for enjoying leisurely walks through the surrounding countryside and visiting nearby historical sites like the Château de Mesnières-en-Bray, which is just a short drive away.

Families will also appreciate the village centre for its calm environment and proximity to local amenities. Critot provides a relaxed setting where children can enjoy the open spaces, and parents can easily access essentials for their stay.

When is the best time to go to Critot?

The best time to visit Critot is during the warmer months, specifically from late spring to early autumn, between May and September.

During this period, the weather in Normandy is generally pleasant, with milder temperatures and more sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. Critot and the surrounding areas are particularly picturesque with blooming gardens and green landscapes. This timeframe is excellent for couples who enjoy leisurely walks or cycling through the scenic routes.

For families, the summer months of July and August are particularly good. The longer daylight hours mean more time for excursions to nearby attractions like the beaches of the Alabaster Coast or historical sites.
