Cute and comfortable home!
This adorable older home had everything we could ask for. Our host was very accommodating and we appreciated her being so flexible with our unexpected requests. We had everything we could need, there was even a computer station setup if needed. We would definitely stay there again!

Would not book again.
While the host made the check in process easy, she was quick to respond to messages, this is definitely not a spot my family will personally visit again. The king size bed is definitely a comfortable bed, the frame is squeaky, and it lacks pillows, the sheets were dirty and there were no other linens found. Total pillows in house were 5, 4 were flat and had cases, one did not and again no extra linens. All of the blankets found had holes in them, but had the potential to be great. To go along with the cleanliness of the property, there was hair left in the kitchen sink and the drain, left in the shower/shower walls. Everything was just dusty and grimy feeling. There was dead bugs on all the window seals, and articles of clothing left behind in the bedroom window seal. The house does not cool down at all, we did change the air filter, and noticed the previous one had not been changed since June of 2023, it was completely black. This property is mentioned it’s great for a family stay, however an oversight on my part is that the property is smoke friendly and if you are not a smoking family, the smell is so overwhelming, you will leave carrying the smell with everything in you. We could not even open the cabinets without the overwhelming smell hitting us. The water in the sinks get dangerously hot for little hands but the shower was cold water the entire time. Overall it kept us safe. The washer and dryer do not dry clothes despite the length of cycle ran.

Odd that only times I've had rating dings are by folks who don't pay attention to property description that says smoking allowed. I'll take your complaints one by one. There are six pillows in the house, 2 flat and 4 plump - 2 on each of the beds and 2 in the closet. Sheets were not only clean, but brand new since I just purchased a new set. There are extra linens for each bed in the dressers in the same rooms with the beds. There's one bed cover with holes in it which is just kept in a closet for an emergency spare, not put on any bed. There was no hair left in kitchen or bathroom. Carpets and all curtains had just been cleaned the week before your arrival, including vacuuming of window sills. Only "clothing" left on window sills were curtain tiebacks. House cools down fine and, while the filter should have been changed prior to your visit and was just an oversight, the date on it was the date of production, not the date it was put in. Not sure how the water was hot in sinks, but shower was cold. Shower is single faucet, all the way to the left to get to hot and then back it off to cold to comfort level. Washer/dryer is a combo unit for small loads. If you overstuff, it makes it more difficult for clothes to dry. Now as to you not renting again, my housekeeper will be happy about that. The only clean up expected of you was to wash your dishes, but you left dirty dishes all over the house, on top of the frig and in the microwave and a dirty diaper wrapped up in the blankets. Unfortunately the housekeeper did not tell me this until after I had rated you or cleanliness and house rules would have been much lower, but the housekeeper is tolerant with our guests and doesn't complain easily.

We booked this house because it was available on short notice and took pets. Our complaint was that it is a smoking allowed house and the smoke smell was quite pervasive. This was listed among the rules which in our haste to book we failed to read. The house is fine for people who smoke.

Great rental for pet owners
The property owner was prompt with communication and very accommodating. The rental covers all the basics and is close to numerous stores and dining options to suit your needs. The lawn in the back half of the property is quite large and was great for exercising my dog.

Awesome!!
This is the 2nd year we stayed here. Kim is excellent to work with. The house is wonderful and we will never stay any where else. The bed is comfortable and it's great having a kitchen to cook in. I enjoyed seeing the deer in the yard.

Tidy sweet and centrally located home.
Kim responded promptly to the few questions we had. We were comfortable in her home and had a great back yard to walk our dog. Nice sidewalks too for walking Merrilee. Surprisingly quiet at night and we slept well on the comfortable bed. Thanks Kim.

Qaint little house
We had stayed here last year so were willing to return this year for our Christmas week with family. The temps dropped to minus 4 degrees, but we were warm and cozy in this perfect little home away from home. We will stay hear again.

Great place to stay
Stayed for 6 weeks for my son to complete certification training. House was perfect for 2 people. Very comfortable, very clean. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Quiet neighbors and no one bothered us. Would definitely stay again if we were going to be in Columbus. Hostess was easily accessed and great to work with. Very close to grocery, stores, restaurants. Was a great stay.

Pros: Felt very safe, easy access to all local activities, well stocked with supplies (less a butchers knife and cutting board :) ), owner responded quickly to any questions, felt at home. Cons: Two beds in living room were literally like sleeping on the floor, even for my nine year old. This was resolved by sleeping on the sofa and recliner, which were comfortable enough. The worst part was that this property has fleas. Our pup was riddled with them after one evening here. Spent most of the time while there picking em off. All that said, we would stay here again.

Thank you for your input. I'll see if I can phrase the wording about the twin beds better. And I believe there is a large knife and cutting board in the kitchen drawers but will have housekeeper doublecheck. Maybe I should label drawers for easier searching. I'm sorry about the flea situation. Guests the previous week had no issues and the housekeeper did not notice anything. We have regular treatments to prevent unwanted guests but went ahead of schedule and treated between you and our next guests so thanks for letting me know. Thanks again for staying with us. Perfect little cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Kim's cabin. Our dog Jazzy was with us and the back yard is nice to go to take the dog to the bathroom and throw the tennis ball (which Jazzy loves). For us, it was perfect. It is older, but clean and perfect for two people. It was close to everything and we saw Mary Chapin Carpenter one night and went to the Franklin Conservatory on one of the days. We would stay here again, if we're in the area. The parking situation isn't odd at all (it sounded strange in the description), but basically you pull up straight and next to the fence - then, the other house next door has access to go in and out as well. Thanks, Kim - this was perfect for us.

Beyond Excellent!!
Kim was excellent to work with and very quick response time that we had even before arrival. The house was immaculate and cozy. The bed was beyond comfortable and we had everything right there in the house. It is a well established neighbood and very safe. We had 2 dogs and they enjoyed the large yard. It was so peaceful and quiet that we didn't even know that we were in a large city. This would be the only place to stay and there is no reason to look further. Thanjk you, Kim for offering this gem!!

Cute bargain
Slept well (nice king bed) and would stay here again. Nice large yard for walking the dog. Very close to large rental house next door but they were not disturbing and were pleasant. Whitehall is a little sketch but Beckley direction is fine with a great bagel shop, Target, etc. No door on bedroom so sleeps like a studio. We felt safe here and would stay again. Great bargain for a couple or small group.

We picked this location because it was conveniently 30 minutes from everything we wanted to do in Columbus. We have a toddler who was able to roam the home without getting into anything. The home was clean for the most part, except for bathtub. Since our son took a bath I had to scrub it beforehand but other than that it was great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. Located in a solid neighborhood, the home was safe, well supplied and as clean as they come. The shared driveway was fine...the neighbors are a really nice family. The large backyard was very convenient to allow our dog some roam time. About an hour away from Hocking Hills area, we realy enjoyed our stay. We recommend this rental.
