This historical beauty is in a quaint little neighborhood close to the best attractions, shopping, and dining. We were greeted by a little white picket fence and front porch swing upon our arrival. All I could say during my first walk-though of this home was "I want to live here forever." The wood floors are beautiful. Brick and stone walls accent the first floor which also has the loveliest unexpected nooks and other hiding places. Finding little spaces for quiet contemplation is difficult with three kids, but not in this house. The basement became the kids' hangout while my husband and I enjoyed our time alone together on the first and second floors. The yard is sprawling and offers a little view of the mountains from the picnic table and hot tub. The beds were comfortable. The walk-in shower and antique bathtub made bathing feel luxurious which was great after hiking in the mountains. The kitchen is well appointed and comes with extras most rental don't offer (bread, eggs, butter, coffee, etc.) This was true throughout the home. We usually have to buy things like paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and detergent when we vacation through VRBO. But this house was stocked with all the essentials. It's obvious this home is more than just an investment property (the kind of rental that feels sterile and lifeless). The owners put their heart into this place and it shows. We encountered a blizzard during our stay. The lovely neighbors came to check in on us and extend their help which was very nice. Jeff (the owner) came and shoveled snow off the sidewalk and driveway. We never had any problems thanks to his attention and diligence. Our stay in Colorado Springs was magical. We can't wait to return.
