We rented unit 1 last weekend and we found it to be an old Colorado home with historic charm and modern amenities. It’s tucked into the side of a mountain and the backyard is steep but pretty with all the red rocks and view of the Manitou Incline. The house was well-stocked and towels were soft and fluffy. Extremely clean. The place was larger than I expected as well. We appreciated the convenience to downtown and walked there several times. My one complaint may be something completely outside the host’s control - there is very little sound separation between the upper VRBO unit and the basement unit. We had our 1 year old with us who woke up at 7:30am and started doing toddler things (running around, asking for breakfast) and we heard the downstairs occupant yelling and cursing at us that he was trying to sleep. It made for an awkward stay the rest of the time! So may not recommend this unit if you have little ones! ##### Eleanor B. I do want to mention that there is a basement rental unit below this house. I did not see that listed anywhere in the description prior to booking this for the week. My wife and I found out by hearing a loud screaming argument from below our feet. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay, the place was clean and couldn’t ask for better proximity to everything and management responded quickly to our questions. When we plan our next trip to Manitou Springs we will book the house and the basement unit at the same time to avoid that mishap. ##### Joseph T. Also this place is directly across from Briarwood, another popular wedding event place. This is very close to the tourist area of Manitou Springs. The house is old and has some quirks ( squeaky floors) but I found it charming. Many nearby eateries and the river is across the street! ##### Dana n.
