Overall, the stay was well. Location was great( a lot within walking distance) and staff were friendly. Lots of parking options nearby. The sleeping area was clean and comfortable. The one improvement would be the restroom area cleanliness/ smell

Park in the parking garage at the hotel property. Take the elevator to the 6th floor and you’re right there at the Rock hotel! So convenient. Facility is very clean and staff very helpful. Rooms are small, but if all you’re going to do is sleep there then it’s perfect. Also there’s a grocery store on the ground level.

Nice, clean downtown hotel. Short walk to Dom, downtown, train, and so on. Liked it, and friendly helpful staff. Decent breakfast too, and a nice patio for those who like to sit outside a little.

Wonderful stay here with my husband The man at the reception was so kind that h came downstairs to the car park to speak to the car parking lady to help translate that we have paid for our parking so we wouldn't get charged. Honestly lovely service and a great hotel. If we're in cologne, we would stay here again!

Affordable option for one night if in transit

Downtown location, ok for a one-night stay if you are in transit. The hotel is on the rooftop of a Parking building. Everything is in the 6th floor of the building. Access is through a narrow and obscure corridor with self-payment parking machines at the entrance. If I had know this, I don't book it as it didn't feel safe at all. The rooms are exactly as you see it in the pictures, nothing special but well kept and clean. If you need a place to sleep one night and continue your journey, this can be an affordable option. If you are looking for more hotel amenities and better stay experience, this is not the hotel for you.

Burr its cold in here...

Overall, it's in a perfect location for the Cathedral and the Chocolate Museum. The room was big enough to comfortably sleep my family of 6. However, the room was so cold! No matter what we did, it was still much too cold for comfort. Reception offered us a small space heater on the 2nd night which helped a little. The parking garage is convenient, only and $19 a night but a very tight squeeze for larger vehicles.

When we arrived at night about 8pm the entrance area was a bit off putting but please do not let this put you off.As soon as you get out of the lift the hotel area is clean and all staff were very helpful even though my German is non existent! Room clean and perfect forca few nights. Only slight complaint would be we booked a twin room but had a large doublecwith 2 single duvets but this was not a major issue.

Clean and friendly hotel

We had a one night stay at this great little hotel. Staff were friendly, the rooms clean and there are nice communal areas, including an outdoor terrace. It's on the 6th floor but there’s a lift. Location is close to the old town, only 10 or so minutes to cathedral and train station, and there's a decent small supemarket on the ground floor open quite late (10pm on our weekday) Just check in advance that you have the rooms you require, however, as we booked twins and were given doubles (although beds were the equivalent of 2 singles in width with separate duvets)

Partially disappointing

The strong point of this hotel is the position, at walking distance from the most important attractions. At street level, in the same building, there is a large supermarket. There are many restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. The room was large enough for a single bed. There was also an armchair, a coffee table and a table with two stools. I used one of the latter as night table (missing). The garderobe needs repair. The table lamp swiched off unexpectedly and randomly. Amazingly, the minibar fridge was connected to the same circuit of all other power outlets, which are activated by the room key. Therefore, the fridge works only when you are in the room, which is completely silly and makes it unuseful. But above all, the air conditioning was fake: in "cool" mode, only the fan worked, without any cooling effect. During the night the room was quite hot, and opening the window did not help so much. The mattress is quite hard. The bathroom is modern and well equipped. However, there is no place to put the soap bar/shampoo in the shower. The room was cleaned every two days only, although the towels were changed every day. The night staff was friendly.

Smallest room of our trip

Convenient location once you're there, but finding the parking lot and even finding the hotel was a challenge. It is near the Cathedral, but a lot of sketchy people hang around the whole area, especially after dark. If you have a wider vehicle, be very care driving up the ramp. We had a very small room with a pillar that made it difficult to get out of bed. No chair to sit on. Also no space for a chair.
