About this property
Luxury in a Historic Landmark-great restaurants within walking distance!
This house is a designated historic landmark, proudly recognized by the town for its deep roots in Buffalo’s history and its connection to the War of 1812. We’re honored to share this special piece of the past with our guests.
Stay just minutes from top destinations: 32 min to Highmark Stadium (Buffalo Bills), 15 min to Buffalo/Niagara Airport, and 45 min to Niagara Falls. We're close to Buffalo’s colleges—ideal for Parent Weekend or student drop-off—and under 30 min from vibrant Downtown Buffalo with theaters, restaurants, and nightlife.
To the east, explore Darien Lake Theme Park (25 min), Akron Falls (15 min), Batavia (30 min), and the Rochester area (60 min). Guests often say they wish they’d stayed longer to enjoy the peaceful home and friendly neighborhood.
In spring, walk to a Saturday farmers market, hike nearby trails, fish the local pond, ride scenic bike paths, or relax at the park just across the street—perfect for families!
Enjoy private access to the house in a quiet, welcoming neighborhood. Upstairs features three comfortable bedrooms for eight to sleep, and two full bathrooms. The main floor includes a spacious dining and living area, a foyer, a half bath, the unique “Rocker Room” (circa 1820), and a charming “Vintage Kitchen” (1950).
All bedrooms feature high-end mattresses—Saatva, Winkbed, and Aireloom—dressed in soft, hypoallergenic sheets, pillows, and blankets. Two full bathrooms are located upstairs, stocked with plenty of towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and body wash.
Master King Bedroom: Includes a king bed and twin beds, one of which is in a former sewing annex with a built-in 1947 wall ironing board and walk-in closet. The original soft pine floors from the 1860s and vintage 1940s shutters add charm. Shares a hallway bathroom with the Canopy Room.
Rose Room: Named after my daughter, whose rose artwork decorates the space. Features a queen bed, electric fireplace, and en suite bathroom with new tile and a hand-thrown vessel sink crafted by my husband Jack.
Canopy Room: Located in the older part of the house, it features exposed beams, a queen canopy bed, antique furniture, and milk glass accents. Once servant quarters in the 1940s, it still has a steep, unused back staircase. Shares a hallway bath with the Master King room. Guests often call it the most romantic room.
The dining/living room is perfect for enjoying takeout or catered meals from 9 nearby restaurants—all within walking distance—offering everything from burgers and pizza to gourmet dishes. A house binder includes menus and recommendations. There’s also a small farm brewery close by, run by my husband!
This kitchen is a true throwback, installed in1947—original cabinetry, brick walls likely from the 1800s, and many vintage items on display and for your use. It includes countertop appliances: a 2-burner induction cooktop, George Foreman Grill, cottage-size fridge, vintage wall oven (from 1955—and still working!), microwave, Keurig (pods provided), coffee pot, toaster, and blender. We provide vintage dishes, mugs, bowls, silverware, wine glasses, and all kinds of coffee and sweeteners. No dishwasher—so please wash what you use. Cleaning supplies and trash bags are provided.
Just beyond the kitchen is the home's original room, with a large fireplace and rocking chairs. The unpainted plaster walls are original. In winter, we’ll prepare your first wood fire for free, using hardwood from our property. A small fee applies for extra fires. We’ll show you how to safely enjoy it when you arrive.
We recently added a Smart TV in the living room. Please remember your own passwords to the streaming services you prefer. Our space invites families to talk over a puzzle, play games and enjoy the area. Several of our guests mentioned they didn't even turn on the TV, but really enjoyed the puzzle on the piano!
Like I said, the property is a work in progress. You might see us in the barn outback, working in there to open a ceramic studio. Currently there are several pieces of pottery in the house that Jack made, some even are for sale. We hope in the summer to offer "Come and Play in Clay...and Stay!" If you want to know the history of this home or know why we named it the Honeyhouse, just ask!

What a fantastic and charming historic home for our family to celebrate Christmas together! Hosts were very communicative and thoughtful, you can tell how much love and attention they have put into this house. Tons of character and history throughout the property- would highly recommend to those exploring WNY.
The host was very good with communication. Easy check and in and out. The house was very cool and located in a great spot from the airport and the surrounding Buffalo and Niagara area. It was x not too far and just close enough for everything.
Lovely and Peaceful! Beds were comfortable. This was our second stay, this will be our preference whenever we come back unto town. Place has a lot of character, and in a beautiful location from park and other amenities (I grew up 2 miles away and this place feels like home). Owner was delightful and gave us additional info on the history
Beautiful property with thoughtful host. Property was very clean and well-appointed with a lot of great history. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
Plenty of room in the place and the beds were comfortable. Low beams in places if you are over 6 ft and we couldn't get the football games on TV. But it was a lovely place to stay in clarence at a great price.
This is the second time I’ve had friends / family stay at this residences. A really unique property with a great backstory and wonderful hosts. Very comfortable place to stay. My group this time are really experienced travelers with many travel books / features to their names. They all loved it. A perfect headquarters to explore all the WNY has to offer. (The first visit was a for a family wedding.) It will certainly be my go-to place for future visitors.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is great, as long as you're not expecting a modern house. We weren't, so we (mom, dad, and 4 teens) enjoyed it as the bit of history that it is. Very clean, and plenty of space. Sue made sure we had what we needed and let us know of opportunities in the community, as well as about many of the restaurants in the area. Great hostess, and great house. We would definitely come here again!
Sue and Jack have such a beautiful, spacious and welcoming home! They are also the very best kind of hosts - attentive (checking in once each morning via text to see if we needed anything) but very respectful of our privacy and space. The house is so spacious, clean and welcoming, with beautiful gardens, outdoor artworks, history and artifacts as well as comfortable a/c and modern bathrooms and conveniences. We recommend the Honey House highly and certainly would book again in the future!
Unique and historic home - so comfortable and accommodating!
The house is full of charm with notes from Sue and Jack (the amazing hosts) to help us make the stay most comfortable as well as learn about the history throughout the house. We were about 30 min to Buffalo and Niagara Falls so easy to get to but stayed in a quaint and beautiful town away from the hustle. They shared a ton of great recommendations for food, drink and shopping to make the most of our stay locally. They checked in to make sure we had what was needed and were available for any questions if it came up! Would 1000% recommend - only regret was I forgot to sign the book! Thanks for an amazing stay Sue and Jack!
We spent Thanksgiving week in Honey House in Clarence. We had a grand time hanging out in the house and also enjoying Clarence and Buffalo. The House was spacious -- big dining table for computers, games or eating. There was plenty of room in the living room for football watching. The bedrooms were also spacious and beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were updated and there was plenty of hot water for the five of us. Sue and Jack are amazing hosts with check ins to make sure we were comfortable and needing anything. The five of us had such a good time admiring the art, antique items and artifacts that are in the house. We also took Sue's recommendations and ate in 4 of Clarence's restaurants that were all walking distance to the house. Sue was so helpful before we arrived, during our visit and also after we departed. I left a valuable item in the house and she sent it to me. You don't get that service if you stay in a hotel! We have family in Buffalo and I am sure if we come to visit, Honey House will be our home away from home.
We had the unique opportunity to stay at this house with our 4 young children ages 8months, 3,5, and7. We messaged sue prior to booking to make sure this property was suitable for a family our size and she was so accommodating and encouraging. What sold us on this place was the stunning park with bike paths directly across the street. In the house Sue reassured us that breakable things were out of reach and she had toys and books for the kiddos which was a lifesaver. Clarence is absolutely charming with excellent restaurants within walking distance. We planned some crock pot meals for the kids, I will say the kitchen is not super conducive for cooking large family meals, so plan to eat out or make simple meals here. There is also no washer and dryer and nearest laundromat was about 15 min away so be sure to plan accordingly.
During our stay we went to Niagara State Park twice about 40min away and we went to the Buffalo children’s museum about 25 min away. We really could have stayed longer and just stayed in Clarence doing some outdoor exploring at the park, my kids could have spent all day here.
The house is very spacious with great bed arrangements for young kids as well which was another favorite feature for us. You can tell sue loves this house and sharing it with people, we hope to be back someday!
We enjoyed this property close to our family reunion. The host is a great communicator. Gave us lots of recommendation of where to shop, eat, and explore! It's a great little town to stay in. The house was wonderful. We loved all of the little notes around the house.
Very unique stay in a historic property. Our host made check in easy and communicated promptly throughout our reservation. The property was perfect for a wedding weekend where we could hang out together while waiting for events. Several restaurants within walking distance. Our host gave detailed recommendations and provided useful tips and information throughout the house so you didn’t have to guess on anything. By far my best VRBO experience EVER. Would highly recommend.

Sue is a wonderful hostess. She quickly got back to us when we had questions, had great recommendations for dining and places to visit. Loved that we could read about the history of the house and the area.
We will definitely stay there again.
Sue is an amazing host! Very attentive. The home is incredibly clean and there is so many interesting things to look at. It was so interesting staying there. We had a group of girls there for a softball tournament and they had such a great time playing the games and doing puzzles and looking at all the fun items in the home. We really had a fantastic time! We would definitely stay here again!
Our stay at this home was great! Perfect home for our family. Plenty of space to spread out. It’s a very unique historical home and we really enjoyed the tour and history the host provided. Very fun to learn about the movie the house is in, and we did enjoy watching it. Everything was very clean and organized. There were cute little helpful notes around the house to tell us where things were located or how to use things. Also a small setup of great gifts for purchase. Location is great too, we were able to walk to some fun shops. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!
A beautiful historic house. Very comfortable beds. The best hosts you could ask for! The bakery that is two doors down was closed due to weather so Sue delivered fresh baked scones.
What more could you ask for
