Fantastic hotel, staff are very friendly and helpful, great location with car parking, my only issue was the bed being too soft but I have chronic back pain, other than that an excellent stay

Very friendly hosts, family room was very good and spacious for 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was amazing and set us all up for a day at York maze. Would highly recommend and the location was quite good to. Onsite parking at the back was really good 👍

If you're after a comfortable stay in a clean hotel close to York town centre, this could be for you. We stopped overnight and had a very pleasant stay, in clean accomodation. The only slight disappointment was breakfast wasn't available. No big deal though and probably a result of Omicron. Recommended

Lovely inside,lovely host and great breakfast. Didnt like so many lights on outside the room and cushions on the bed as they are not able to be washed at 60 degrees and generally just a waste of space.

Position is ideal. Nice and quiet and a perfect vacation.

Gorgeous looking hotel. Already lovely but excited to see it when their plans to gain a 4th star come to fruition. My only qualms are rather thin walls to the next bathroom (you can hear the next rooms shower power unit) and the ventilation (weather was low 20s but room got full sun and with no air con it was very hot, even with windows fully open). Otherwise, tasteful decor, a really nice restaurant with super food and a beautiful location.

Great location and price. Full of character very welcoming and comfy. Considering the age of the building they have managed the space and updated the hotel with modern facilities. Personal touches of tea coffee and biscuits and toiletries,hairdryer etc. Included breakfast was fresh and good in choice of cereals fresh fruit toasts jams and many varieties of cooked breakfasts to your liking. Overall great value for money and centre location for town exploring.

The village was quiet and so pretty, the room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable, we were really well looked after and made to feel so welcome, breakfast was amazing every morning and nothing was to much trouble, I would recommend a stay here instead of being in busy York And the chocolate brownies they sell in the coffee shop are something special as well as their own blend of coffee

This is a fantastic hotel, in an idyllic location. Everything about Goldsborough is of the highest quality, with great attention to detail .Our room was exceptional and the cleanliness was the best I have seen so far. The gardens are delightful to walk round and the head gardener was very polite and friendly, as were all the staff. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Gill who informed me of all the information relevant for my stay, just the right amount not overwhelming like some places I have stayed. The room well Minnie house/cottage was beautiful, the decore suited the cottage perfect every last detail was in place. The bed was comfy and actual real plump pillows ahhhhh. Fresh milk in the fridge is always a plus, free parking and super quick free wifi. Will defiantly return on my next stay in York.

We had a lovely stay at Marmadukes. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and when we had a problem with our room we were moved straight away without any fuss. It's a beautiful building and in a great location from which to discover York. Would definitely recommend!
