My brother and I walk together once a year to catch up as we live in different parts of the country. This year we decided on the 24 mile Clarendon Way from Winchester to Salisbury. Although off the Way Stockbridge is a beautiful village and convenient half way point to stop for the night. A beautiful room in a delightful hotel, set in the heart of Winchester and so walking distance of shops, restaurants and the cathedral. There were lovely touches in the room including bottled water on the bedside tables and a well-stocked cupboard including iron, ironing board and a hairdryer. The bathroom had towelling robes, shower caps and nice toiletries. All members of staff were extremely polite and courteous.

This was our first stay at the hotel-although we had stayed at Pennyhill Park. Three adults and a small Maltese Terrier with adjoining rooms for a five night stay. We found the hotel to be absolutely brilliant. Customer service was first class and could not be faulted. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean-bathroom toiletries were replaced daily. More importantly our dog was welcomed throughout the hotel which meant that we could have him with us at breakfast and supper in the bar. The...
