The apartment offers free parking but we decided to use public transportation and uber since parking in Chicago would have been difficult. The walk to the train station is 15 to 20 minutes, we used the train to go to Chicago but used Uber every evening to take us straight to the apartment. The bed is comfortable and bedding is nice. The apartment was clean and spacious, and there was everything we needed. The location was good for us, a short distance to the city and United Center. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. The heat was on so it was hot with no way of turning it down or off. We opened windows and used the fans. There is a window a/c in the main living area, which we used a couple times. It doesn’t cool the bedroom, but does cool the rest of the place. The bed is an older memory foam mattress on a frame. The sheets and comforter were nice and cozy. The living room area has a small couch and a very uncomfortable recliner that doesn’t recline. It wasn’t easy to unwind after walking around Chicago all day. The loud neighbors who smoke weed are still there. The hallway smelled of weed in the evenings. Once you get into the unit you don’t smell it anymore. There are several locks on the door so you feel safe. I love having a designated parking spot. It was a relief to come back in the evenings knowing I wouldn’t have to search for a parking spot. Stayed 4 nights in Apr 2025 ### 8/10 Good #### Kevin J. 14 Jul 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Nice spot in Oak Park We found this to be a nice though not exceptional apartment for our stay in Oak Park. Our hist was very responsive to questions and was very well organized with the check-in and check-out. Having a parking space was very convenient, as was the proximity to the Frank Lloyd Wright properties, which were within walking distance. The apt was furnished reasonably well, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was lovely. On the negative side, regarding the listing information, I find it diffcult to believe this apt is 2400 sq. ft. There were also a couple of outlets without proper covers. I didn’t notice bare wires, but if i had a small child, I might be concerned. And lastly, the AC in the living room was so loud, we couldn’t hear the TV, and the one in the bedroom was loud enough to make it difficult to sleep. ##### Kevin J. It was nicely decorated, clean, the furniture arrangement of this place is quite practical. Beds are cozy. Owner provided enough bed sheets and pillows. We did breakfast at this place to save time with kiddos and we found it has the basics for a morning start such as coffee and coffee maker, a nearby supermarket, napkins, utensils, cups, plates and bowls. Communication was awesome, the owner really cares about getting expectations right. Parking is definitively a convenient benefit since we don't use our car to drive to Chicago. Good food and transportation are at close, walkable distance to the unit and when doing so the area felt safe and an enjoyable act of appreciation of Chicago's housing architecture. Internet works fantastic. Price of booking is tight to the conditions of the building which is decently maintained but not a luxury venue. The unit smells strong to a hotel room cleaner but it's tolerable. Because this unit is in the lower level, windows cannot be left opened at night.
