Find hotels in Chevannay from £43

The best area to stay in Chevannay is within the village itself, particularly near the main square, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and a genuine village experience.

Chevannay is a small, picturesque village in the heart of Bourgogne, known for its traditional stone houses and quiet lanes. The main square, often centred around the village church or a small fountain, is the hub of local life. You'll find a few local shops, a bakery, and perhaps a small restaurant or café within easy walking distance. The surrounding countryside, with its rolling hills and vineyards, is just moments away.

For couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape, staying in a guesthouse or a boutique hotel within the village is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy leisurely strolls, sample local wines, and dine at charming village eateries. It's also a great base for exploring the regional vineyards and historic towns like Beaune and Dijon, which are a short drive away.

Families will also find Chevannay a pleasant base. The village provides a relaxed setting where children can enjoy the open spaces, and parents can appreciate the slower pace of life.

The best time to go to Chevannay for pleasant weather and outdoor activities is from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and agreeable, with longer daylight hours. This makes it ideal for exploring the vineyards, enjoying walks in the countryside, and visiting local markets. July and August are the warmest months, superb for those who enjoy higher temperatures, while May, June, and September offer a slightly cooler, yet still very pleasant, experience.

For those interested in wine, September and early October are particularly special as they coincide with the grape harvest season. Many local wineries offer special tours and tastings during this period, providing a unique insight into the winemaking process. This is a fantastic time for couples or solo travellers who appreciate viticulture and want to experience the region at its most active.

Should you prefer a quieter trip with fewer crowds, late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September) are excellent choices.
