Getting to Douglas After Your Flight
When you arrive at Cork Airport, you can complete your journey to Douglas by bus, cab or car.
Once outside the terminal, you can head for the taxi rank situated outside the arrivals hall, or catch a Bus Éireann service into the centre of Cork, and from there, use the direct bus links to Douglas.
Alternatively, if you’ve arranged car hire through Expedia before your flight, you’ll be free to jump behind the wheel and make the drive yourself, following the N27 and the N40 to Douglas.
When to Book a Flight to Visit Douglas
Douglas is a great place to head, whatever the time of year. You’ll find a wealth of shops offering fashions, homewares and Irish handicrafts in both East and West Douglas, together with enough great food haunts to keep you happy all year round.
Of course, there’s also the permanent call of the countryside and coast. Whatever the weather, you can experience everything that County Cork has to offer, from spectacular cliff walks to the pretty villages of the nearby Owenabue Valley, family attractions such as Fota Wildlife Park, and from April to January, whale spotting boat trips from Cork Harbour.
Douglas is also a superb base for enjoying Cork’s festival scene, which runs through the year. Music fans will love the Cork International Choral Festival in May and the Cork Jazz Festival in October, while creative types will be drawn to the art events of June’s Cork Midsummer Festival and the Cork Film Festival every November.
