Flights to Blackrock
To get to the coastal town of Blackrock you will need to book a flight into Dublin Airport. From there it’s a simple journey south, through the centre of Dublin, towards the southern arc of the picturesque Dublin Bay to the former fishing village of Blackrock.
Dublin Airport is located close to both the M1 and M50 motorways and is around five miles north of the city centre. There is plenty of public transport options available to visitors so you could be enjoying the scenic charms of the Bay very soon after your flight lands.
How to Get to Blackrock from the Airport
The Airline Express bus route 747 runs from the airport to the Busaras terminal in the city centre and also to both Dublin Connolly and Dublin Heuston railway stations.
There are a number of bus services that connect Dublin city centre to Blackrock and surrounding areas, or you can take the DART, the local regional rail system, taking in some stunning coastal scenery on the way.
There’s also a half hourly Aircoach service on the 702 and 703 routes that run 24 hours a day and links the airport to the town.
To save time and make the most of your holiday in Blackrock you could arrange your car hire through Expedia before your flight and enjoy the open road soon after it touches down.
Taxis are also available directly outside both terminals and a taxi dispatcher will be on hand at either rank if you require any further information or assistance.
Facilities at Dublin Airport
Dublin is one of the ten busiest airports in Europe and has over 21 million passengers passing through its terminals annually.
The main shopping area – The Loop – is home to some of the world’s leading brands and there are cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets, from fast food burger joints to restaurants promising a rather more unique dining experience.
The airport is split into two separate passenger terminals. Terminal 1 is mainly used for short haul flights while Terminal 2 looks after long haul passengers and is also the site for the US pre-clearance service making any journey to America even quicker and simpler.
All the facilities and services expected by a traveller are easily located in the airport and friendly staff are always on hand to assist.
Flights and Airlines
Dublin Airport has over 50 airlines flying to over 170 different locations and is the base for the headquarters of Aer Lingus. Flights to and from London are the most popular with over 600 flights a week between the two capital cities.
Flights from other destinations in the UK – such as Manchester and Birmingham - are also very popular as are the long haul routes to cities in the United States.
