Check in & out could not have been easier, which was great. Location is great considering the affordable rate. We were able to walk everywhere downtown with just nice 10-25 minute strolls down King— the Charleston experience! Place was clean and perfect for our little getaway weekend. More character in a home unit like this than some of the hotels in my opinion. We were able to walk to 90% of our destinations and enjoyed being that close to restaurants and and stores. The apartment was clean and well put together (although the couch was super uncomfortable but understand limits with spacing). We had an issue with cable and management was great. I’ve stayed with stay duvet twice and both times check in has been a hassle and I’ve had to call the r1-800 number to get in. Not necessary heating conditions for winter. No heating at the bathroom nor the bedroom. Just a little floor portable heater (very little!!!). Small sofa and very uncomfortable (too hard). Entrance door very old and wood around lock not secured. No sun blackout shades. No door for the bethroom. But a long walk to the lower downtown. So we often used Uber and Lyft. The apartment is in need of some maintenance attention, loose plumbing & toilet, major black mold on the bathtub caulk. This rental was listed at one price per night. In actuality the price was actually 35% higher (not including tax and the security deposit.). We've never seen so many big add-on charges, "host" fee, plus a pet fee, cleaning fee and, of course, the VRBO (no-)service fee. We know these extra charges were likely listed in the fine print. So, next time we'll pay more attention. We tend to think the extra charges are all about the same among various rentals. These were extraordinary. We strongly prefer when owners list the actual, total cost, instead of advertising a lower nightly rate and then piling on with extra fees. ##### Burton H.
