The Francis Marion in Charleston is a great hotel. It is located on King Street which is in the heart of so much that the city has to offer. We had dinner one night in the Swamp Fox, which was very good. We had a very spacious room that included a sitting area. The bathroom was a little on the small side. When we returned one evening, we were pleasantly surprised to see a turndown service with chocolates. A parking garage is located right next to the hotel and the College of Charleston was right there as well.

All was great with the stay except for the extra charges when checking out. $35 daily “amenities charge”, not even sure what that means. A $10 credit card usage charge ? I get I pay for food charged to room HOWEVER I assumed my reservation thru Expedia included all room charges, and taxes including pool usage?!
