Very nice and clean property! The location was great, with the beach directly across the street and some great cafés and shops down the road. I would highly recommend staying here!
Beautiful two-bedroom apartment well located opposite the beach with a grocery store as well as restaurants, stores and bus stops. The port of Chania is a 15-minute bus ride away.
The apartment is excellent, the only downside is the proximity of the busy road and the noise. Several very good restaurants and the beach are all very close, there’s a choice of 3 supermarkets if you wish to self cater. There’s buses into both Chania and Agia Marina virtually on the doorstep and very cheap.Overall we enjoyed our stay at Villa Sonja, the front view from the apartment is fantastic, the agent and owner are very both helpful and responded to our queries immediately. Just one item that we would like to bring to the owner’s attention is the sun loungers could do with replacing as several of the ‘stops’ are broken.
We had a lovely time in the pool and exploring the surrounding beaches and area. The apartment was overall clean inside, could use new front patio chairs they were quite rusty. But understandably so as they are across the street from the sea. Extra towels would have been a plus since our stay was just shy of linen service. The pics on the site need updated. The side yard is unusable as its overgrown and is someones front yard. However we didnt come for the yard...it was the great location. We'd return.

Excellent, Clean Apartment & location. I am lost for words
The location is convenient, less than 15 min drive to Old Town and 35 min from airport. It sits directly across the street from a beautiful beach where you can swim and snorkel, and rent umbrellas. Markets and restaurants nearby. Everything was clean and comfortable! Would definitely recommend!
The pool is small and too cold for us but it is October. The sea is much warmer. The beach is across the street. The street is pretty busy but you do get used to it. Lots of parking beside. Lots of restaurants and stores walkable. Apartment is large but couch is low to the ground.
The host was very helpful when we arrived in town and had wrong directions in our GPS. property was everything that was listed. The only suggestion would be a book about local information etc. Thank you for the stay
On arrival key was in box as advised.

Very good sized rooms with all facilities provided.
A grill tray would have been handy.

The picture is not showing that property is located on the highway and you cant use front yard at all as it is dirty and noisy Pool in the back yard you share with other apartments so you dont have any privacy at all Owners dont provide basic supplies such as paper towels or garbage bags Not enough towels Also for the back yard at least provide something to put on sunbed and outside table

Trotz einigen mangeln schön
Die Lage der Wohnung ist super. Feiner Sandstrand mit klarem Wasser keine 50 Meter von der Wohnung entfernt. Im Umkreis der Wohnung Supermarkt und Restaurants. Der Pool war sehr gepflegt. Die Küche war minimal mit Geschirr ausgestattet.die Wohnung liegt wirklich an einer Hauptstraße. Aber das wussten wir vorher. Bushaltestelle fast direkt vor der Wohnung. Es sollte ab und zu die Mängel behoben werden. Kann trotzdem die
Wohnung weiter empfehlen. warr einige bm
Insgesamt war es sehr schön und der Vermieter hat sich gut um uns gekümmert.
In Sonja 2 müsste die Dusche an der Handbrause repariert werden, es fehlt an Kleinigkeiten in der Küche, wenn man Selbstverpfleger ist ( Kochlöffel, Eierbecher, Spülbürste, Salatschüssel groß, Gemüsemesser, Auflaufform etc) und die Terrassenmöbel müssten dringend gegen bequemere ausgetauscht werden.
Ansonsten ist das Apartment sehr geräumig, gepflegt und ansprechend. Ich würde Filzkleber unter die Stuhlbeine kleben, damit der Geräuschpegel etwas gedämpft wird.
Apropos Geräuschpegel. Den kann leider keiner dämmen. Das Apartment liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße, was ja auch erwähnt wird. Diese ist durch verrückte Motorradfahrer, Busse und Lkws extrem laut. Macht man aber alle Fenster und Türen zu und arbeitet mit der Klimaanlage, so hört man kaum noch etwas und ein ruhiger Schlaf ist garantiert 👍😊
Wir würden es weiter empfehlen.

Modern and well equipped
The house is beautiful with sea view but in between is a pretty busy street. Not very close to Chania. Ideal for few days and in combination with some exploring. Everything you need is inside the house: the pool is perfect after a hot day exploring !
Service was 100% good!
Airco in master bedroom is not working: should be fixed (new gas?)
And drainage of the shower: water is floating into the living room: already a mop or something to swipe the water back in would help :)
This was a late summer break for me and my daughter. Arrived after dark. Cab from airport 37 euros (cab back only 30 with same driver). Driver knew exactly where we were going. Key in lock box as agreed. Apartment is modern and clean (although a broom would be welcome to keep sand at bay). 2 good bedrooms and bathroom. Excellent aircon and wireless. Main road is busy and noisy although bedrooms are at the back so no problems sleeping. Pool looked great (until 2 days of fairly violent wind - so got sandy & grubby). View is wonderful. Beach bars with sunbeds all along the seafront. We liked Kalamaki beach bar where beds and umbrellas are free provided you spend 7.50 at the bar during the day (breakfast, coffees, teas, lunch, dinner plus alcohol). Used the bus to travel into Chania town. Bought tickets from supermarket (you can buy on the bus but 5 euro return rather than 3.40). Took about 20 minutes. Venetian Harbour definitely worth a visit. Walk to Golden & Iguana beaches took about 30 mins. No hills 😃. Many small supermarkets (one is literally behind the apartment) selling fresh bread as well as everything you need for self catering. Large Lidl & Greek supermarket about 20 minutes stroll away (all flat). At least 12 restaurants within 15 minutes walk (many closer). Most are serving traditional dishes (although decent pizzeria about 2 mins away). We found meals to be relatively cheap but alcohol more expensive than we expected. Couple of places were screening UK football games. Everybody speaks English (puts us to shame) and all very friendly. We have never been to Crete before but will certainly be returning.
We had a fabulous holiday in Sonja 2 apartment, very clean well furnished apartment, regularly cleaned and towels/linen changed. (We had not expected this and bought a sweeping brush on day 3 as there was none in the apartment and floor sandy from the beach) fantastic location across the road from the sea and beautiful beach with sun loungers 5 minutes walk. An excellent holiday we shall return! Note to the owner the directions from the Home away app on google maps lead us to a dead end about 8 minutes away from the correct location of the property, as it was after midnight this was a bit annoying. Luckily our tech savvy teenager had googled a hotel nearby and once we got onto the coast road the apartment was clearly signposted. (The paper directions from the airport were no use as we had to take a shuttle bus to the car hire depot). Apart from that the holiday was superb would highly recommend as within 12 minutes drive to Chania Oldtown and less than 5 minutes drive to Lidl and another large supermarket .
