"Really loved staying at Mountain Top. Our room was great except for toilet flushing, but that seems to be a problem throughout the country. The view was amazing from our balcony which had a swinging chair that added to the experience. The amount of animals we spotted just on the property's site was amazing: toucans, about 50 titi monkeys, macaws, black lizards and the sounds of howler monkeys. The hanging bridges were a wee suspect, but we didn't die. The only complaint of the site were the strange quirks: the partially completed third floor roof deck, the strange piles of construction materials laying about. Not problems per se, just aspects that prevented me from giving MTPH a straight 5 star review. Staff was amazing. From service to massages, everything was spectacular. "
"Beautiful place. I was planning to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé!) and the staff helped me with everything to be ready for the big day. It was a great place. "
"The El Faro Containers Beach hotel isn’t on the beach (5 min walk) but is built into a steep hill -- so steep, they offer free golf cart rides up and down to access. The pools are nice and they provide beach towels. The hotel is built from old shipping containers, so the rooms are long and narrow. But they are nice and quite comfortable. The elevators are small and slow. Each room has an ocean view from its balcony. On check-in, they warn you to close your room door tight because the monkeys have figured out how to work the doorknob and get in to trash your belongings. I saw a monkey on the roof right outside my hotel window on the day I checked out. Quepos is a short drive away, and there are lots of restaurants, services, and things to do in the Manuel Antonio resort area. "
"This was the perfect property for our first visit to Manuel Antonio. The rooms were spacious ane comfortable. We saw monkeys on our balcony! We didn’t have a rooms with a view but I imagine the higher floors must have stunning views. The pool was beautiful and relaxing and had a plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. The monkeys gave us quite a show in the late afternoon hopping balcony to balcony. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner there as well. We received amazing service from Javier, Edgar, Allan, Jazmin. And the beach was stunning and we loved walking right down the trail. The trail itself was so pretty with all of the flowers and vegetation but fair warning it was rocky and muddy and a very steep climb coming back. Wear tennis or sturdy shoes. It was a nice little hike! We rented chairs and umbrellas and standup paddleboards at the beach for not too much money. And we had delicious drinks and excellent service from the beach stands. There is no reason not to stay at Shana by the Beach! Rides to restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park were about $10 each way. Enjoy!"
"The view is spectacular . Staff is kind , helpful and go above and beyond . I have stayed at this hotel 4x . The breakfast is so good ! Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants that are walkable and it’s a quick bus ride to the beach every 15 min . The hotel has shuttle service as well ! 10/10 "
"We visited 3 regions of Costa Rica and this was our favorite. The food was amazing and well priced. We were overlooking the ocean and the jungle. Wildlife was everywhere. So many things to do nearby. "
