Roads were very bumpy, seemed like area residents did not have any power and all entrances were gated and locked. This seemed normal to the locals but to us as tourists coming from other parts of Costa Rica was a very different experience. New culture was interesting. Definitely would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for one night before a cruise. The good news is that the hotel is a quick five minute walk to Puntarenas port. The bad news is that we barely slept due to freezing AC, very low end linens and horrible pillows. There’s no elevator so we had to drag our luggage up two flights. No closet in the room, no blow dryer. On a positive note, the included breakfast, though limited to fruit, plantains, eggs, rice and toast, was surprisingly good and lunch—very fresh grilled shrimp over a salad of greens, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers—was excellent.

Great place to stay for a few nights and chill. Enjoy the great, clean hotel and nice pool with the shaded areas that you need in this climate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are superb and I would try anything on the menu with complete confidence. Prices are sensible and compare very favourably with other hotels in Costa Rica. I hope we can visit again!
