Welcome to our whimsical, vintage lakefront cottage near Bayfield, Ontario – the ultimate retreat for those seeking a delightful mix of history, nostalgia, and rustic charm! Step into our cozy haven, where every corner tells a story. INSIDE Step inside and feel the warmth of our well-loved cottage, with its cozy kitchen that boasts a quirky touch – the cupboard doors are made from a vintage refrigerator box! The high ceilings with exposed wood rafters add to the rustic vibe. The open layout seamlessly connects the kitchen, living, and dining areas. TV has Roku so you can stream your favourite movies from Prime/Netflix. One of our coolest features? The front of the cottage opens up to create a breezeway, keeping the whole place cool and comfortable. With 2 snug bedrooms and a half bath, plus an outdoor shower that’s a true adventure, you’ll experience a unique blend of comfort and fun. OUTSIDE The large front yard is perfect for setting up a badminton net or playing other games. Enjoy outdoor dining with colorful vintage chairs and a shady umbrella, and fire up the propane BBQ for your favorite cottage meals. The highlight? The amazing lake view and direct lake access, complete with a sunset deck where you can sip a drink and enjoy the most gorgeous sunsets. And with plenty of beach space this year, there’s even more room for fun and relaxation! NOTE: Approx. 80 stairs to the beach - and there is loads of beach here! The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all. SLEEPING SPACES Bedroom 1: Double Bed Bedroom 2: Double Bed BATHROOM Inside there is a half bath with toilet and sink Outdoor Shower! Max 1 Small Pet is allowed but must sign separate pet addendum Parking is limited to 2 vehicles Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels. All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. This property is equipped with a monitoring device (including noise, temp & wifi connections) May have front door outside camera. Communication from our hosts was top notch, ensuring we knew how to find the property, clear check-in and checkout instructions, asking if there was anything we needed, recommending things to do around the area, and even personalizing our welcome card. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we could hear the waves of beautiful lake Huron crashing against the shore. This charming, historic, rustic cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway. Our late night beachy bonfire was incredible, we saw the sun set over lake Huron, AND saw the moon set over the lake, which I have never seen before, it was SO cool. The stars at night were breathtaking, and this property was a rock hunters dream! Within minutes of stepping on the beach, I found two beautiful Petoskey stones. We loved reading about the history of the cabin and enjoying all the nautical decor. The cabin was equipped with anything we could need, from coffee, games, and movies, to mosquito spray and a lighter for a beach bonfire. The fall decorations were adorable and you could tell they were freshly placed, which made our experience feel very personalized. You can truly feel how much our hosts enjoy and value the guests experience. I'd love to visit again, it was the perfect birthday getaway weekend. Not to mention all the adorable little cities nearby, each with their own charm, AMAZING food, lakeside views, and unmatched hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!! ##### Connie K. The blue of the water rivals the Carribean and on a calm, sunny day it is so clear you can see the boulders standing on the bottom from the top of the property. The beach is quiet, peaceful and makes for great swimming. Combination of sand and stone but with a pair of water shoes, totally easy to enter and get around. You do get a workout making your way up and down the 80-90 steps but plenty of places to pause for a rest along the way. If you plan ahead and pack a cooler bag to bring down with you, you can minimize the trips too! We used that and had a couple lunches/snacks on the sunset deck too. The cottage gets a lovely breeze with the windows open and the ceiling fan and you can hear the waves crashing below. The beds are super comfy, the area is quiet and the birds act as a natural alarm clock. The outdoor shower does the job - and is handy if you need to rinse your pooch after a sandy romp on the beach. A great long weekend away, Jervis Bay was the perfect size for a couple and our dog. ##### Amanda S.
