"The hotel is a bit far out from the shops so unless you’re reasonably fit , you might need a car. Our room was large an good sized en suite. The other problem I would point out is that, iagain if you’re struggling with walking ,or require the aid of a stick or other walking aid there’s a lot of stairs to reach some of the rooms. My husband did struggle with them. Ideal for a one night stop over."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Cellardyke?
The best area to stay in Cellardyke is along the harbourfront and the streets immediately surrounding it, particularly Shore Street and John Street.

This area is the heart of Cellardyke, offering direct access to the historic harbour. It's a picturesque spot with traditional fishermen's cottages, often painted in bright colours, lining the narrow streets. You'll find local shops and eateries within easy walking distance. The harbour itself is a working one, providing a real sense of local life.

Couples looking for a peaceful coastal escape will find this area particularly appealing. The charm of the harbour, the sound of the gulls, and the opportunity for scenic walks along the Fife Coastal Path make it an ideal setting for a relaxing break. You can enjoy fresh seafood at local establishments and watch the boats come and go.

For families, staying close to the harbour also offers convenience. The small, contained nature of the village centre means attractions like the local park or a stroll along the shore are never far away.
When is the best time to go to Cellardyke?
The best time to go to Cellardyke is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October.

These months offer a good balance of pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and generally more readily available accommodation. You'll find the days are longer and the temperatures are milder, making it ideal for exploring the Fife Coastal Path or enjoying the local harbour.

For those looking to experience the region's natural beauty with extended daylight hours, May and June are particularly appealing. The wildflowers are often in bloom, and the sea breezes are refreshing. This time is great for couples hoping for scenic walks and peaceful evenings.

September and October still offer agreeable weather, and the summer rush has subsided, making for a more relaxed visit.

You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival.
