lack of security. building was in terrible repair & insecure. we arrived late, slept there due to having no choice. got up in the am and rented another room (also damanged by the the hurricane 9 mo's earlier, but clean and remarkedly nicer- same price & offered a pool. didn't bother to request a refund. just wanted to leave- the roaches were big enough to leash. immediately moved to another hotel, and enjoyed the remainder of our stay- Cedar Key is unique and lovely, but need to be discrecionary of the hotels. not all are repaired after the hurricane last year.

Was perfect for a night away from home for me and my boys. We've gone thru so much the past 10yrs this was much needed. We loved our stay here. The owners a super friendly and down to earth. Room was clean and cooled off for our arrival. Many yummy restaurants close by and a market right down the road.

If you understand what you are expecting, then I think you will be please with this property based on: It is well below the price of other properties in this area. The owner lives on property and is very attentive to your needs. It is conveniently located in short walking distance to restaurants and is close to the boat ramp. There is wifi available. The refrigerator worked well and was already cold. If all the spots are not taken, you may park your boat trailer on property. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning works very well. You may be able to get a late check out if no one has booked your room for that day. Keep in mind, while this is not a modern 5 star hotel, it is very good for the price as rooms can be quite expensive in down town Cedar Key.

The room is fine for the price although the electric outlets will not hold a plug ( they simply fall out)..The bathtub/shower needs replaced, toilet is small in size and needs caulking around base.

The balcony walkway was very dirty with dog food scattered around- very unsanitary. The room was clean but carpeting was old & musty. The deck was in need of repair with floor boards broken. Won’t be staying there again but you get what you pay for!

The lady at the front desk was the sweetest! Our room was clean, checking in was a breeze, as well as checking out. There was street parking as well as regular parking. There was chairs in front of each room as well as two different balcony areas (shared with everyone) with seating for hanging out or whatever you wish.

Loved the view of the gulf from the upper deck, and the different species of birds. Motel is showing its age, but gives it that quaint downtown old town charm , so it fits right in on 2nd st.

Debbie and Joel were so friendly and accommodating. The place is very rustic and old island style. Still recovering from recent hurricane like most older, local style properties. We loved the island vibe. They gave us great recommendations for dining and shopping. Only drawback was full trash can outside our room for 2 days . Would recommend to folks who want the true , small island town vibe.

Room was clean considering the property seemed to still be under repair from the hurricane last year, but 2nd floor flooring was peeling and nasty. Stairs, decks and outside furniture was very nasty. Disappointing as we had stayed a few years back and enjoyed it. Hoping it will get it’s charm back.

This motel needs lots of repairs; interior and exterior. It is extremely cluttered, lots of cats at the registration door, dirty appearance. The full size beds were very soft, but worked fine and curtains barely covered the window. The carpet was old and stained. Air conditioning was a window unit with very few electrical outlets; none in the bathroom area. Would NOT stay here again.

The property located in the center of old cedar key. It is rustic and perfect for the location. If you want to experience cedar key, this is where you go.

bath tub was filthy, there was water on the floor around the toilet, it must of been leaking at the base. no ice was available. there was an offensive odor outside near the office. I would not stay at the Cedar Inn again.

Mostly terrible.
The Good and the Ugly. Location great. Bed good. Thats all the Good. Now the Ugly. Shower is Scalding or ice cold. Advise no shower during stay, or 3AM. Second day came back from breakfast and found used prophylactic middle of floor. Never in my life of travels has that happened and stayed in a few questionable plaves. Asked manager who had access and nobody else but her. Go figure. Absent that crazy issue, still only 2 star. Caters to all groups, including non stop smokers next door, OK as long as windows closed. Never again.
