"Lovely location to get the train to and from. Walking distance to a lot of nice bars and restaurants. The host was lovely and very helpful. You can use the washing machine which was helpful for we travelled hand luggage only. Apartment was large and had everything you needed, even a friendly cat that would visit the garden! "The views are amazing and it is easy to get the bus up to the main centre. Nice easy walk back in the evening once the sun was down. Rudi was very helpful. "There were many issues, some were fixed within the first week, some were not fixed until we left (distroyed BBQ). Sometimes we had to tell the owner twice to fix something (broken bed). "This past visit July 2025 will mark our third consecutive summer stay at this gem of a hotel. We continue to enjoy the spacious accommodations and friendly staff. Like a sightly faded beauty, this 50 something year old hotel certainly can use an update , and we have been advised that is in progress. However you cannot beat the spaciousness and slightly faded grandeur of this beautiful property. The hotel is situated on what I believe to be one the ‘most’ gorgeous and picturesque of the entire Taormina area. The private grotto beach and pool areas are spectacular as is the view of Mount Etna from the buffet breakfast terrace. "
