Holiday hotel on the beach.

Posted 21-Aug-2016
Pros: Friendly restaurant staff.
Cons: I think a realistic description of the bedrooms would help particularly for families wishing to share!
Location: Right on the sea front with good bus service to St Peter Port and around the island.
We were a family of 3, 2 adults and an 18 year old daughter staying for 10 nights in August 2016. We booked a superior double and asked for 3 single beds. The room was a bit tight with 3 beds but it was comfortable and we had a nice bathroom and a side balcony view of the beach and sunset. It was well cleaned every day and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we had in the restaurant was very good. It is a shame there isn't a pool but the sea is so close it doesn't really impact too much on your stay! We were lucky in the weather was good during our stay and so we were out and about every day so only used hotel sparingly during the day.

Lovely hotel close to the beach

Posted 16-Aug-2016
Pros: The friendly staff, modern clean rooms and location of the hotel.
Cons: The noisy maids in the morning and make sure all reception staff know about the island as much as possible.
Location: Great location, so close the beach! You can get the bus just down the road from the hotel into town or anywhere else on the island for £1!
This hotel is brilliantly situated, opposite Cobo Beach which is one of the best in Guernsey. It is next to the Rockmount pub/restaurant which is great and also near the Cobo Tea Rooms and other amenities. The hotel restaurant feels pretty sumptuous but I was disappointed with the breakfast as I felt there was a lack of choice. You could only get cereals, yoghurts, fruit and some pastries and had to pay a lot extra for any hot or cooked breakfast. The hotel staff are friendly and eager to help, although one guy wasn't really knowledgeable about the area and it was easier looking up on my phone. My room was lovely, very clean and modern. However, it was at the end of the corridor and by a fire exit meaning it got very noisy in the morning with the maids who constantly came in and out of the fire exit and used the fire escape stairs located on the outside the building, which were just outside my bedroom. So I was annoyed with being woken up at around 8am each morning with all their clattering and chatting. I would have much preferred a quiet room. However, all in all and pleasant stay.

Great stay

Posted 15-Aug-2016
Pros: It ticked our boxes - pleasant room, had a bath, somewhere to sit, could see the sea, rugged interesting shoreline with a beautiful beach and bus stop
Cons: Take the westerly wind away and nothing could be improved.
Location: West coast, beautiful sunsets, often windy when it comes in from the west, plenty of walking around and several bus stops if you want to go somewhere
Had a great time - simple! Nothing more to be said.

Good hotel, beautiful sunset

Posted 05-Aug-2016
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Kitchen vents should be higher up, our window was next to them and we got all the cooked food smell
Location: Great Pub just next door and a good old style fish and chips place just a few meters to walk down the road. The beach has a perfect sunset!
We had a good time at the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. One minor detail that took away from it being a perfect stay was the bad air from the kitchens and the loud pub - the problem is not people having a good time till midnight, but the pub getting deliveries early the next morning. All in all, it was a good hotel with a good stay and I would consider coming back - this time with a room to the front.

Great location overlooking the beach

Posted 02-Aug-2016
Pros: Clean, very friendly helpful staff and good location
Cons: Superior room
Location: Beach, fish and chips and handy for bus route
Slightly disappointed with superior room which was alongside air conditioning units and suffered from noise from above continuously whenever people moved above

great location lovely beach

Lovely little hotel, Bus stop just outside takes you all over the island at just £1. Great choice of breakfast. My only gripe was the room was very warm, otherwise a really nice stay.

Great location. Lovely views.

Posted 19-Jun-2016
Pros: Location, perfect formalises and beach lovers
Cons: Restaurant staff training
Location: See above
Clean, well appointed room with a balcony looking out over the beach. A little small for a double, but acceptable for a short 4 Night stay. Breakfast was good, being a combination of buffet and ordered cooked items. Local produce, well presented. Dinner in the restaurant one evening was not so great in terms of service, long time a its and seemingly no comment inflation between staff meant having to ask for things a couple of times and waiting a long time. The food however was well cooked and presented. The her knows what he is doing.

Ein ganz hervorragend geführtes Hotel

Posted 02-Jun-2016

In a great position by the sea. Flat coastal walks

Posted 27-May-2016
Pros: Very clean and comfortable rooms.seaside location
Cons: Service in dining room. See above.
Beautiful clean hotel. However had to wait far too long for our dinner on first night's stay. The mussels were a bit dry and small. Not the freshest. Breakfast buffet very good but often not much choice or anything left (pastries and fresh fruit) if you arrive for breakfast after 9am. Could replenish dishes.
