"Room lovely and spacious. Staff were very knowledgeable about local area, and could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast porridge or full cooked breakfast.and some other cereal options etc, tasty and good quality. There's no bar or restaurant, just breakfast, but locally there are other food options."

"A great location for this hotel with lovely views from the rooms. The food is excellent, both the dinners and the cooked breakfasts, and staff are friendly and helpful. Just a few tweaks would make things even better: 1. The music in the restaurant and, especially the bar, is too loud and intrusive 2. The pastries at breakfast were stale 3. In both our rooms a handyman was needed as the grab rails in both bathrooms were coming away from the wall and there were parts missing from the shower controls 4. The spa massage treatment was great but changing room facilities weren't so good with inadequate locker space and little room to change. Apart from those minor reservations we would be very happy to return!"

"Had fantastic time went with family to celebrate my birthday 6 adults 2 small children plenty space for all of us outdoors very safe for 3 4 year old cottage spotless went to girvan beach highly recommend not as busy as Ayr which is ideal thank you angela"

"The meals were very tasty and nicely presented. Breakfast choice was tailored to suit individuals. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. The hosts went over and above our expectations. A genuine pleasure to stay at this location"

"House itself is in need if a little TLC Didn't stop us from having a brilliant time here.The "hot tub" has to heated with logs, which are provided, left to heat for about 1 hour before going in. Water is brown, dirty looking, from tap but drinking water is provided. Loved the holiday. Host was very helpful and friendly. Dogs were very friendly as we're the horses and sheep. One thing we did miss were mats in the shower as one of the ladies slipped and fell in shower, gave herself a really sore bottom and back. Overall we Loved it. "

"A warm welcome from the staff who were attentive and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and very well priced for the quality. I’d highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Sanquhar."

Old Toll Cottage -Delightful Cottage

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay here; the cottage is extremely comfortable and well furnished and is larger than the photos suggest. The garden, which is across the lane, is a pleasant "extra", a lovely place to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The cottage is only a short walk from the village's main street and the local walks, and there are many places of interest within a short drive - yet the village feels like it's miles from anywhere, it's so tranquil. I would happily stay here again if I visit Ayrshire and have no hesitation in recommending it to others."

Blairquhan Cottages

"We spent a lovely spring week surrounded by daffodils and rolling Ayrshire hills. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with space for nine at wauchope cottage, which is part of the old stable/coach house. The staff were polite and the apartment was dog friendly as long as you can keep your dog in the kitchen or hall until it dries off as the livingroom and upstairs bedrooms have light coloured carpets. Overall a lovely holiday in an area and accommodation in which we would love to stay at again."
