"Room was not clean enough in parts, only enough towels for 1 person and should have been 2, also bath mat missing, mold in corner of shower tray, around extractor fan was dirty also. The beds were comfortable and clean. During our sleep we were constantly being awakened by a external fan relatively close to our bedroom widow and due to the extraordinary hot weather we had to keep our window open but the noise was too much to sleep continously sound, after chatting with the owners in the morning...

Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century. Several notable features have resulted, including earthworks created by Royalist defenders during the Civil War and window frames dating to Tudor times that were made of imported Cotswold stone that stands out against the local limestone used for the rest of the building.

"Very well situated hotel by the Milford Marina and the seafront. Staff were excellent : always happy to help and find a quick solution - of particular mention Grace (reception) and Emma (breakfast restaurant and her team). Breakfast was very well stocked, great variety and good quality produce. Great selection. As we were staying 4 nights, I expected the housekeeping team to replenish the tea/coffee tray daily with supplies but this did not happen at all and I had to ask reception often. Separately, on arrival the shower gel dispenser had not been filled; basic housekeeping check before we arrived would have resolved the matter. Otherwise the daily servicing of the room was of very high standard by the housekeeping team. The hotel had a well equipped gym which was useful as I used it daily, so became obvious that the designated team to keep it refreshed including topping up clean towels and cups for the water cooler were missing the gym totally, as on my 3rd morning I had to ask reception to resolve. They did quickly."
