Booked this place about 3 weeks before I left Ireland, when we arrived, with my friend, who travelled 2 days from the US West coast no less, we found a construction site. the hotel rep in charge arranged for us to stay at another hotel.......my complaint here is pretty obvious, how can this site, including the hotel owners, put rooms up for sale, that are non existent. Very underhanded indeed. My first time to write a hotel review like this.......hope its my last. Sure, you can have hiccups here and there travelling in various Countries, but this kind of behaviour is a no-no! Having said that, Cape Town is a great place, and I'd go back there again. Great value, location is brilliant. At night, Long Street and Waterfront are lively. There are prowlers the locality but nothing the hotel can do about that. It's a great hotel, good value, goid breakfast and they go the extra mile. Do no expect 'views', a large comfortable room on walking distance to most attractions with good breakfast. If I had negatives, the lack of a suspended ceiling for esthetics does little to hear noise from shower above and piles of linen in stairwell looked unsightly but I'm guessing most folk use the lift. Room 403 has a ventilation issue: cigarette smoke from a lower unit was getting into our room.
