Not clean, really broken down hotel, things falling apart, water drips into a bucket somewhere in the bedroom.

I will start by saying I have stayed at this hotel before and it was not this bad before. I will start by saying I picked this hotel for the pool. When we checked in we were never told the pool was closed due to the filter being broken. We were informed two days into our trip. With that being said let’s talk about the room. I booked two rooms. One of our room was really dirty. There was a half eaten can of refried beans in the refrigerator. Bottled water that had been drank out of. Both bathrooms had used bars of soap in them. And last but not least one of my rooms didn’t have a smoke detector and it had a hole in the ceiling with wires hanging down. And it smelled like cigarettes. I brought this to the attention of the front counter lady, and she said that she would look into it. Then the following day which was day two we found out the pool is closed till further notice. And then I brought up the issues we are having with our room. the managers solution was to check us out and give us a full refund because I had an issue with our room, not having a smoke detector with kids in our room.The managers comment about the smoke detector was“ there was no fire risk”. And I said there is not one till there is one. But At that point we had no place to go 12 hrs from home with two kids under 9. So we had to keep the rooms. I am a step mom and an aunt first. And I don’t like when I am pushed into a corner. Safety first! Other guests has same issues.
