We came across Islay House by accident but so glad we chose to visit. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we had a super stay. Fantastic island accommodations, great location, very clean and tidy
Andrew welcome you as a cherished friend. He helped me setting my day up. Called different places to be sure everything was OK. Room was over my expectation! Thanks for the wonderful experience. I will come back.
Nice and clean room , confortable bed , good wifi. Continental breakfast not very good, parking on the street in front of the house
We had an excellent stay here; gorgeous property, fantastic breakfast and very knowledgable friendly and welcoming hosts.
Pier House is in a great location, amazing views across the bay & has everything you could need. The toy area upstairs was a particular hit, as was the beach just outside. Perfect!
Islay is home to a rich history, beautiful landscape, comfortable hotels and friendly people – but it is probably most famous for its whisky. The island is home to eight different distilleries that produce some of the most popular spirits in the entire world.
The island of Islay is synonymous with strongly flavoured, heavily peated whisky and one of the best examples of this type of Scotch is from the Caol Ila Distillery. The distillery along with nearby Bunnahabhain, is blessed with stunning views across the sound of Islay towards the dramatic quartzite peaks of the three Paps of Jura.
While Islay should be top of the list for any whisky lover, the island is famous for more than just its drink as it was once the seat of the Ancient Lords of Isle and home to Clan Donald. Islay is also well served by its transport links and makes a perfect first stop on any island hopping adventure.
