This a lovely welcoming home in a beautiful natural rural location. The bedroom (and the whole house) was very comfortable with antique furniture and a nice collection of antique nick nacks and art. The mattress on our bed was on the firm side which may not suit everybody. All in all it was a very nice change from the usual utilitarian spaces. The owner is very thoughtful and responsive, and the breakfast choices were healthy fresh and delicious.

We received such a warm welcome at The Boars Head. It felt like everything in the room was really high spec. Loved that we had a stocked fridge (you had to pay for most items, though!) with free milk and a free dram each, too! A espresso machine with good choice of coffees and tea bags. My family and I stayed just one night but enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the hotel, found the staff very friendly and well trained. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Check in and out very easy.

I was staying in the hotel just before heading back down to Manchester on Saturday (I didn't want to travel Friday evening). I've got to say this is probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. I really couldn't fault anything (maybe the wifi in the evening). I stayed for evening meal and that was absolutely fantastic food. That evening I slept soundly and didn't wake at all till the morning. The breakfast also had more options to anywhere else I've stayed. I will be definitely staying here...

We had great overnight stay. Check in and check out easy and quick and staff lovely. Room was a suite which we were allocated on arrival and loved this Huge room with lovely views of the river. We booked a 5 night break at a special price and found that the offer was outstanding. The receptionist was friendly as were all the staff especially the breakfast lady in charge. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was small as was to be expected as it was an offer BUT the room was clean and tidy and tea and coffee together with shortbread biscuits EVERY day.
