Highland Gate, Stirling by Marston's Inns
8/10 Good
"Convenient location. Our room was clean and comfortable and on the ground floor which was appreciated. Parking onsite. The hotel had great food for dinner, we didn’t try the breakfast. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. There was no fridge in the room which would have been nice as we were travelling and had food with us."

"Restaurant was great! View and location were top notch!"

Glasgow Westerwood Spa & Golf Resort
4/10 Poor
"We booked this hotel due to the dog friendly room and the spa. However the furnishings in the room were dirty and stained (large stains on curtains and pillows) the shower was surrounded by mould and the doorway was bumped and chipped. The spa was dirty throughout both in the changing rooms and the swimming pool area, mosaic tiles were missing and dirty water with hairs in was pooling on even surfaces. After our first visit we did not return. Breakfast was average with little fruit, yoghurt or pasties available by 9am. We had to use disposable cups as glasses were missing for the fruit juices, and food ordered from the menu (pancakes) was poor. We made our thoughts clear to staff at the time who although sounded convincing in listening and apologising to us did nothing to change the situation as they were "front of house" and not "housekeeping", "leisure" or "spa" staff. A very disappointing stay in a very tired hotel."

"Conveniently located for the castle and the centre of town. Bar and restaurant area are excellent although having Reception at the bar seems a little quirky. Useful after having the other half drive you there though. Room was spacious and clean. Parking had to be paid to a third party but the hotel staff were very helpful getting it done. No A/C. The lift only goes to the first floor so if you have mobility concerns, keep that in mind. We were on the second floor with heavy suitcases but the staff were more than happy to take them up and down the stairs for us."

Broomhall Castle Hotel
8/10 Good
"The building is stunning and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Couple of small points , were that the shower didnt drain very well to the point of almost overflowing and we couldnt open the bathroom window. The room next door , the door banged loudly everytime they used it and they left their dog in the room to bark and howl when they went for breakfast. Maybe thats our fault for not complaining , but i wont be going to a dog friendly hotel again if thats what is going to happen. Beautiful old building in a lovely location, ideal for exploring the area with excellent staff who were very welcoming."

"Tasty breakfast and a comfy bed"

Metro Inns Falkirk
8/10 Good
"This hotel was fine for an economical one-night stay in the area. Nothing fancy, and shared bathroom facilities (many of which were 'out of order'). The bedroom was fine, although it would have been nice to have a tea kettle in the room. The location was good -- not too far from Edinburgh Airport, and convenient for visiting the sites in Falkirk and Stirling as long as you have a car. The staff was there 24 hrs/day, so could accommodate our very late arrival due to flight schedules. Overall we would definitely use them again if we have a quick overnight or early flight EDI."
